Well according to the news of the film, the main characters are Naruto, Sakura, Lee and Neji. So i guess after Naruto dies, the other three will avenge his death by beating the bad guys somehow. Sasuke might appear to lend a helping hand in some way but doesn't fight alongside Sakura, Lee or Neji.

Okay, first of all the new trailer shows that the things that seem to kill Naruto aren't the akatsuki here's the link:

But this trailer does prove..... NARUTO DIES?!?!?!?

If you look at his rasengan it fades away at about 18-22 secs

wait a sec! i just noticed... Kakashi's not at his funeral!?!?!? Does that mean... KAKASHI DIED TOO!!!! AHHH!!!! and why the heck is Chouji there????? Also, the old trailer states that the movie comes out today, this one says 8/4/07

But seriously, If it is a 'what if' storyline, then I wouldn't be surprised if Kakashi or any of the others get killed if the main character gets killed.

Naruto as a series stopped being interesting to me once I realized two things- the first being that the series takes joy in overcomplicating strategies/ jutsu/ chakra to the point that it all becomes a seamless jumble, and the second being that the rivalry became very tiring once it became the focal point of Naruto and Sasuke's interaction. I really don't see the draw-in for this film. It just seems like another ploy to get more fans watching the movie.
Still don't see why I see comments all the time on message boards about how the English dub needs to catch up in order to start dubbing these films. It's like the Inuyasha films. Everyone was clamoring for a US release before they were dubbed, and then they came and nobody cared.
