VIZ Media has announced that they will be releasing Masashi Kishimoto's art book "UZUMAKI" in North America. The book will be released under the title "The Art of Naruto: Uzumaki", and hit stores October 2, 2007. The original version of UZUMAKI released in Japan back in 2004, and in addition to a featuring a large collection of Naruto art, it also included the most extensive interview with the Masashi Kishimoto available today. Cover art from the original Japanese version can be seen below:
Official Product Description: Relish Masashi Kishimoto's artwork in all its colorful glory in this new hardbound collection of images from the Naruto manga! Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi and all your favorite characters appear in over a hundred pages of gorgeous full-color images. The book also includes an extensive interview with creator Masashi Kishimoto, step-by-step details on the process of creating a Naruto illustration, 20 pages of notes from the author about each image in the book and a beautiful double-sided poster! Sounds like everything is being left intact as it was seen in the Japanese release (but in English, of course). As with all of VIZ Media's releases, the book will be resized to a different letter format -- without quality loss. It will also be upgraded from a softcover book to hardcover. Click here to pre-order "The Art of Naruto: Uzumaki" online. NOTE: When they say "step-by-step details on the process of creating a Naruto illustration", the illustration they're talking about is actually the cover art of the book itself! Very cool. It also have some information on the COPIC SKETCH markers that he uses to make the color illustrations.

Quote:
The majority of the book is colored art from throughout the Naruto manga. Then Masashi Kishimoto gives comments on each of the images, and also does an interview. That's pretty much it.
