Courtesy of Jammy, we now have a complete character listing for Japan's recently released Wii game "Naruto Shippuden: Gekitou Ninja Taisen EX". This list includes Sasori who is a secret character, racking up a total of 14 characters in the game:

Playable characters are as follows: Uzumaki Naruto, Haruno Sakura, Hatake Kakashi, Rock Lee, Hyuuga Neji, Tenten, Maito Gai, Gaara, Temari, Kankurou, Uchiha Itachi, Hoshigaki Kisame, Deidara, and Sasori.

Because no one likes Shimakaru enough or that he really isn't in the Gaara Rescue arc much.

The reason why Shikamaru isn't in this game is because he doesn't do anything in the first arc of Shippuden. This game follows the Anime, so there is your explanation.
As for Accel, It's character roaster is exactly the same as this game except that Shikamaru is in it making it 15 characters instead of this games 14. There is no Ino, Kiba, or anyone like that in Accel. One plus in Accel though is that all old characters from Hero 3 are in Accel and haven't been taken out. That's one thing i miss from this game, the removal of old characters. Zabuza, Haku, 3rd Hokage, there all gone....

So GNTEX is only going to have 14 characters TOTAL? That's f'ing lame. They should've kept all the characters from the previous games.
What they need to do is start making more specials for each character. That's why I don't really like the GNT series much. They have like, one or two specials per character and the fighting is way too linear and boring. The team specials were a nice addition, but the characters lacked individual variety and some of the team specials were so implausible it hurt (like Sasuke, Kakashi, and Itachi fighting together; WTF, man).

Oh noes! The team specials aren't like teh series! *Commits Suicide*. Get over it.
I find the GNT series far superior than the NH series because NH is just a big fat fan service slap in the face. It's all big on specials and nothing more exciting. Where as GNT has more depth, more fun and general more skill with how to use Chakra, cancels, techs, counters and proper specials and not forgetting the awesomeness of 4 player. How can you say GNT to be boring and NH isn't when in NH all it is, is just Substituting every combo and repeating it over.

This is Shippuden now, so of course the character list will start again. But it would of been nice to include at least some of the characters whom will never come back again like Zabuza and Haku. And 14 is 14, it's not that bad. Better than GNT 1 and just under GNT 2's characters list.

[/quote] Yesh although I love the NH series after you beat the game and everything it gets boring as in the GNT series I can keep play it over and over and over it doesn't get boring. Well that might be because i always play in 4p mode >..
