Default Naruto Uncut: Volume 2

On July 4th 2006, VIZ Media released a DVD box set containing the first 13 episodes of the Naruto animes series on DVD. These episodes were dubbed into English, and (unlike the episode broadcast on Cartoon Network), were "uncut".

Several weeks ago, I updated the N2 "Upcoming Releases" box with several new products. One of which was a sequal to the Naruto Uncut DVD box set by VIZ! I've been waiting for some cover art before I actually made a post about it. Volume 2 of the uncut Naruto DVDs, is scheduled for a 12/05/2006 release, and is expected to contain another 13 episodes in a very similar format to how the first volume was created and released.
Pre-orders have not opened yet for this product. It's also still unknown if there will be a special edition + a regular edition.

At least it's better than nothing. 13 episodes is quite good for now until Funimation release the Vegeta saga box set. But it's good we are getting 13 episode instead of less and it's avaliable at a good price. Also, there are preorders avaliable for both versions.

Regular:

Special:

I also like the different color for this box. It gives some variety and hopefully this will continue for a long time.

Well, it's the same price. I hope the UK doesn't get anything changed. This upcomign box set ends when they interview everyone, which is right before they enter the Forest of Death. But the first season ends there.

I dont get why we dont just do it by season since we go through 2 seasons a year and we have 2 box sets a year I dont see why they cant just be a season behind since the uncut is not that much different from the edited version.

It's a complex problem.
But I think the answer to your question is VIZ (probably) feels, if they wait a little while to release the DVDs, it's likely a larger number of people will purchase them.
In other words, if they release the DVDs right after the episodes on them air on TV, no will want to buy the DVDs since they just saw the episodes on Cartoon Network.
That's just a guess though -- and I'm sure there's more than just one reason.

Well, VIZ is also releasing each box exactly as it was released in Japan. VIZ is not the one to blame. It's the japanese. They were the ones who made the boxes. VIZ only translated them.
Also, Sparky. Your logic is about waiting is correct. By waiting, more fans or gift buyers will buy the boxes because they haven't seen it or are getting it for someone who hasn't seen it in a while. I can say this ties in with the first box. It was literally ten months since the first episode was aired and it was a good refresher. I could use the word "Marketing" but that wouldn't state a reason, now would it?

Well in the cases of animes like Naruto and Bleach we need DVD's to come out faster so people that are new to the series can catchup to the to the series.
Like I started liking Naruto in the summer meaning I had to miss all the eps up to that point since they dont repeat them enough.

To my knowledge and amazon's release dates, it looks as if every Naruto dub DVD is coming out every month or every month and a half. Another reason could be for the uncut boxes releases is so the dub DVDs can be released first. It's worth the wait if you can distract yourself long enough so you won't want the next box so bad. I've been noticing school days have been going by faster. At least December 5th is coming quickly.
Besides the box set, I've got DBZ box coming out next month preordered and the Wii as well. I have been waiting longer than most people have for these three things. So don't worry yourself. I will be sure to make half a month go by when I get the Wii for those who can't wait.

I hope you enjoy those DVDs when they come. I have a little more of a problem and I may have to put some more money into it. I'm going to try to make the box, which is for DBZ movies 1-3, and the Tenkaichi 2 guide book come in one order and make the Red Steel guide book come in a second order. I will also try to force myself from playing Red Steel until the guide book comes.
I am a big enough fan like you and I can see where you're coming from, but I also see the companies point of view. I have been used to the whole wait a year to get a bunch of episodes. I am like that because of the ultimate uncuts. Yes, I paid the $20 for every two month release and I am proud of it because I am able to wait anything I preorder now. I've only told a couple of people this, but back in December of last year I preordered Fusion Reborn and the Vegeta Saga II starter set and waited four months for them to come. So it helped me out in the end because now I can wait a year for the first few episodes to be released. Now onto my other fan side. I am becoming excited about the release and the days are going by very fast for this release. The days are going by very fast now a days. With that being said, the release will be coming very fast. Hey, at least six months is better than a year, which is what the DBZ games get.
