Naruto: 4th Stage, Volume 10 -- Earlier today, Studio Pierrot revealed the cover art and general details for the next Japanese Naruto DVD. Like usual, the volume will contain 4 episodes, no subtitles, and cost about ?3900 ($35 USD). This particular volume releases 10/04/2006, and will cover episodes 168-171 of the original Japanese Naruto anime series. First edition copies will include special Naruto playing cards -- 10 of spades, 10 of clubs, 10 of hearts, and 10 of diamonds. NOTE: The first 3 Japanese characters on the cover read: "NA RU TO". The second three (at the end) read: "Volume #10" Running Time: 93 Minutes | Encoding: Region 2 / NTSC (Japan) Aspect Ratio(s): 4:3 Standard | Layers: Single Sided / Dual Layered Click here to pre-order this DVD DVD Lingo -- In Japan a new episode of the Naruto anime series airs every week (every week, always - no such thing as season breaks). Which means every month, 4 new episodes of Naruto now exist. So, every month a new DVD will release contain 4 episodes (not the newest 4, for several reasons the DVDs are a little behind the actual TV airings). That make any sense? 4 new episodes a month, 1 DVD (containing 4 episodes) a month. OK, so "Stage", what in the world does that mean? "Stage" represents the year that the DVDs are being released. In other words, "4th Stage, Volume 9", is year 4, month 9. Numbering DVDs this way, prevents incredibly high volume numbers and is not an uncommom thing to see in Japanese DVDs.
