VIZ Offers Free Manga to Kids

Below is the press release issued today regarding the VIZ Media sponsorship of the BART Kids Ride Free Saturdays program. Press Conference happened this morning at the Fruitvale BART Station in Oakland announcing the program, BART Board President, Carole Ward Allen, Representtives from VIZ Media, Stomper-the Oakland A's mascott, a very special and talented clown from Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus and over 100 children attended.

VIZ Media and BART gave out goodies bags that included manga, anime, tee shirts and other goodies to attending children and press.

On August 26th at the Powell Street BART station VIZ Media will be giving out 10,000 'Kids Packs' to children -filled with manga, anime, posters and more!

AND even more exciting promotions with BART in September...

Artwork from well known manga and anime series such as -INUYASHA, POKeMON, FULL MOON, NARUTO, ZATCH BELL! and FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST will be on 1 million BART ticket backs beginning mid September !

OAKLAND, CA, August 3, 2006 – It’s a summer Saturday and the kids are itching to get out of the house, but the freeways and bridges are a mess and the days of gas under $3.00 a gallon now seem like a distant, fond memory. What to do? BART and its partners have the answer: Kids Ride Free Saturdays!

For the month of August, children age twelve and under will be able to ride BART for free on Saturdays, courtesy of VIZ Media, the San Francisco-based publishing, licensing and animation company that has brought the well loved POKéMON characters and many other popular series, such as ZATCH BELL!, NARUTO, INUYASHA and more to the U.S.
