VIZ Censors the Mark of the Caged Bird

In the latest issue of Shonen Jump USA, we get our first look at the Hyuuga clan's branch family curse mark (which represents a caged bird). However, the mark has been altered from it's original design. When this part of the series appeared in the anime, the mark was also altered. Infact, VIZ has used the exact design created for the anime!

It's kind of confusing with all these different version of the series, so I created an image comparing each version! The image compares: The Japanese manga (original version of the series), the anime (only the Japanese version of the anime has reached this point in the series), and VIZ's translation of the manga.

Man it's hot! What makes it even worse is we don't have air conditioning, arrghh!! It feels like it's actually hotter inside than outside. At least there's a little bit of a breeze outside

This is why I prefer the scanslations despite the mediocre abyssimal quality in the earlier chapters. At least nothing was edited out.

Man...i understand the change, but why couldn't VIZ just say on a page spread before it's revealed just saying that the mark on Neji's head is a Buddhist Manji and not the Swastika.
They did this in other such Manga's as Blade Of The Immortal describing that the Swastika's found in the Manga don't represent the Nazi's.

I agree.

But maybe they will when it's released in a graphic novel....
