Namek'jin Ryu - Legendary Staffer
|
I'm sure you have noticed and/or felt my absence from the Website for awhile. I had some problems I needed to resolve and the fact that the Toy Line for DragonBall/Z/GT had resolved to nothing, I was at what seemed to be the end of my rope. However it seems those tides have changed.
On October 31, 2007, Bandai America Incorporated announced that it will be returning to FUNimation Entertainment's DragonBall Z franchise as the North American master toy licensee. Fans of all ageds are poised to see one of their favorite brands, considered one of the most succesful anime properties from Japan, recapture the excitement since Bandai America's last DragonBall Z lineup in 2000. "We are proud of this partnership with bandai America and we look forward to unveiling the new line," said Bob Brennan, director of licensing at FUNimation Entertainment. "We are confident that together with Bandai we can move into the new era of DragonBall Z." "Beginning in the Spring of 2008, the DragonBall Z toyline will be reborn like no one has ever seen before," said Colleen Sherfey, director of marketing, Bandai America. "With our expertise in action figures, existing fans will have their ravenous demand for exclusive DragonBall products satiated, while new kis will be drawn in by the unique play patterns and toys." The DragonBall franchise is one of the most successful anime properties of all time. The franchise was first created by Akira Toriyama as a Manga in the 1980's. Since the, it has exploded into a global phenomenon that has generated more than $4 billion in merchandising sales. We have since witnessed the golden age of figures that was supplied by Irwin Toys. We have lived through the dark times that was Jakks Pacific. And now we step into a new ero of DragonBall Z action figures with the highest hopes in our hearts. I look forward to bringing everyone the latest, updated news on the action figure line as they become available. In the meantime feel free to head over to the forums and leave a comment. Maybe even suggest figures you'd like to see! Parts of this article taken from: IGN - New Master For DragonBall Z.
