TOEI Animation has just released the DVD covers for the next three "Dragonball Individual Dragon Box Set DVDs"; Volumes 4, 5, and 6. Like always, the covers feature all-new original artwork by TOEI Animation. Each of these DVDs will cover 6 episodes and cost approximately $36 USD. This month's releases (Volumes 4-6) will cover episodes 19-36 of the Japanese Dragonball anime series, and will release in Japan on May/02/2007. Each volume will include a special trading card featuring art from the covers. If you're interested in purchasing them we suggest you try Amazon.co.jp (only customer account info, and order form pages in English) or CDJapan.co.jp (completely in English). Please understand that these DVDs have NO English dialogue and NO English subtitles -- these releases are of the original Japanese Dragonball anime series. They are also NTSC/Region 2 DVDs, so make sure your TV/DVD setup can support this. The quality of the video and audio has been beautifully remastered and restored in cooperation with TOEI Animation themselves. Basically, these DVDs are a re-release of TOEI Animation's "Dragon Box" sets. Since the Dragon Boxes were a extremely limited release, they're now re-releasing the series in individual DVDs (without all the extras) so those who missed out on the Dragon Boxes can still own the series.

Hey Sharky, can you tell me how it is that you check to see if your DVD player suuports NTSC/Region 2? And if it doesn't support it, is there something that you can buy to add-on to your DVD player to make it compatible? The reason why i'm so interested is because i'm thinking about starting a Dragon Box collection, but I need to know if my DVD player can play them. Thanks in advance.[kakashi2]

The only way I know of is to actually put a Region 2 DVD in and see if it plays. But assuming that you purchased your player in the US, and you've successfully played US DVDs on it before, it's very likely Region 2 DVDs will not play.
If you look around on the internet, most DVD players actually have a code you can punch in on the remote that will disable regions. I have a Yamaha and did this, and now everything I've tried works great. You live in the United States so you're defintely going to have NTSC. If you can't get the DVDs to work on your current DVD player, sites like Play-asia.com usually sell region free ones. Region free means that all regions will work on it. Region 1 is the US. Another possibility is to use your computer. Either rip the DVD using a program like DVD Decrypter (which in this case a region won't matter), or switch the region on your computer and play it right off the DVD. Computers allow users to change between regions like 5 times. If you have a Playstation 2, there might be something you can do to get it working there. I don't much about that though.
