As we hinted at yesterday, in the latest issue of Vjump it was officially announced that a new Dragonball video game is currently in production! Known currently as "Dragonball Online", the game will be a MMORPG released on the PC in 2007/2008. Complete with character designs by Akira Toriyama, it's being developed not in Japan, but (under license) in Korea! Currently planned to release in both countries. I've scanned in the full article from Vjump, which can be seen below:

According to the article, the game takes place apprx. 200 years after the end of Dragonball Z (year 1000 in the DBZ Universe // with year 784 being the end DBZ). DBO gives players a true MMORPG experience in the world of Dragonball. Things typically found in an MMORPG like character customization, free roaming (or whatever you call it --- free to explore and do what you want), interact with other players in the game, etc.
It's also explained that Dragonball Online allows gamers to "age their characters" (as shown with the images of Bulma and a Namekian in the 2 scans). More information as it unfolds!!
Plot: One day, during rigorous training, disaster strikes Planet Earth! The planet becomes divived into parts by a evil group known as the "Eye of Darkness". With the help of Future Trunks (who suddenly arrives to help), you set out on a journey to reclaim peace to Earth. On this adventure, you run into other players with the same goal. Together, overcoming your limits, and defeating the mysterious mastermind behind the Eye of Darkness.

even if this game doesnt com in english i would play it.Idont know any japanese or korean but i LOVE Dragonball and mmorpgs.

But i still hope it comes in english

It'll come out in English. It has to, or English speakers will riot. >_>
And I've got my eye on this game. Currently, this is the only DBZ game that I really want to get, so that's where my money will go.

Take a look at the rest of the MMORPGs; their battle systems aren't very imaginative. I would rather like it if this Dragonball Online game creates their own battle system that is more in line with the show.

Oh no. They've gone and done it. Expanded Universe stuff with characters creation and stuff that DBZ should just leave well alone.

I agree, I think they should leave well enough alone. With all these new creations and story lines, the original idea and uniqueness of DBZ is gone. They are just trying to reinvent the wheel, again! You can't improve on a classic! I just can't excited about this new game and its new characters and plots. It just seems like the old DBZ magic is gone.

Does anyone want to see a game like this on the 360 or Wii? I think if they had RPG game that let you go online with your created character it would be pretty cool. I wounder how many races there will be I know Human, Syain and Namakian but I hope they have Androids, Transformers (aka Frizea type creators) and maybe Kai.

They'd probably have just Human, Saiyan, Namekian, and Android, since those are the only ones you'd see, normally, on Earth.
