Just a few short hours earlier Shueisha revealed the cover for the next "Dragonball Z Anime-Manga" volume (AKA "DBZ: TV Animation Comics" -- shown below). This is the second volume in the saga (officially labeled as "Super Saiyan ·Frieza - Arc"), and as of today is available in stores accross Japan with 176 pages.
An "Anime-Manga" (usually shortened to "Ani-Manga"), are a type of manga that use anime episodes for dialogue and art work. Currently no plans have been announced for an English translation. Please note that these releases are simply DBZ in book form. This is not new material, or an extension of the manga/anime in any way. The only original piece of work in these books are the cover illustrations. If you'd like to order this volume online (retail price of about $6.00), click here.

I'm new to this "anime-manga" deal. Do these mangas ever get sold in the U.S. or do you have to order these from Japan? Or, can you order them through bookstores or anime shops here in the U.S.? I have ordered from Japan in the past and it takes so long and the costs are ridiculous. Maybe there is another way. Any thoughts?....[unsure]

Yes they are sold in the U.S.
These books are all in Japanese so the number of stores that will carry them is fairly small. I don't know where you live, so unfortunetely I can't suggest a store to go to (but even if I did, I'm not a shopping guide --- my knowledge is limited to stores in the San Jose/San Francisco area where I used to live). As far as online stores that are based in the US --- I've found their prices are usually not very good. They raise the price they had to pay to import it, and then charge shipping to wherever you live in the US. So basically you just pay shipping twice, and at the same time get a much smaller and outdated selection. Personally I prefer to just buy right from Japan (or locally). I've also found that MANY (maybe even most) stores located in the US which sell Japanese/anime items are filled with bootlegs. Which always makes me worried that I'll be buying a knockoff of somekind. Although, this is quite rare when dealing with books.

Thank you for the info. I live in Miami and I have checked around to some small anime shops in town and they don't have that kind of arrangement. So I will reconsider ordering directly from Japan (I just wish their delivery service was a bit faster). It's probably better just to pay one time and feel good that what you are getting is the real deal.
