According to the Magic Box, recently released PS2 game "Dragonball Z: Sparking! NEO" has sold apprx. 263,897 units for the week of October 2-8. Making it the top selling game (in Japan) for the week. The complete top 10 list can be found below:
1. Dragon Ball Z: Sparking! NEO (PS2, Namco Bandai) - 263,897 units 2. Pokemon Diamond (NDS, Nintendo) - 254,080 [1,074,127] units 3. Pokemon Pearl (NDS, Nintendo) - 212,193 [980,881] units 4. Gundam Battle Royale (PSP, Namco Bandai) - 64,986 units 5. New Super Mario Bros. (NDS, Nintendo) - 40,114 [3,233,793] units 6. Zaidan Houjin Nippon Kanji Nouryoku Kentei Kyoukai Kounin: KanKen DS (NDS, Rocket Co.) - 38,799 [84,091] units 7. Everybody's Tennis (PS2, Sony) - 32,962 [416,507] units 8. Final Fantasy III (NDS, Square Enix) - 30,418 [781,713] units 9. Kawashima Ryuuta Kyouju Kanshuu: Motto Nouo Kitaeru Otona DS Training (NDS, Nintendo) - 26,600 [3,288,248] units 10. Oide yo Doubutsu no Mori [Animal Crossing: Wild World (NDS, Nintendo) - 22,787 [3,305,244] units This seems to be the pattern with DBZ games -- very high ranking within the first 1-2 weeks, and then sales drop way down after that.
