In a new article included in the latest issue of Shonen Jump Weekly, TOEI Animation revealed new information on the upcoming (and final) volume of the Dragonball Z Diorama sets (#3). For information on volumes 1 & 2 see me previous posts. The actual diorama has yet to be shown, but new artwork by Akira Toriyama (which the set will be based upon) has been provided. Click on the image below to view the full-size:
As you can see in the image, this time around fans will need coupons from volumes 34-49. Like with volume 2, those who have already used up their coupons can still get the next set since it requires different coupons. More information as it becomes available! What are the Diorama Sets? In November of last year, TOEI began releasing the "Individual Dragon Box DVDs". Included with each volume was a special coupon. But only with the release of volume 18 were these coupons actually usable. If you had all 18 volumes (with all 18 coupons), you could mail them in to TOEI and they would send you back the diorama set. But, there was a catch! They would only send the diorama to residents of Japan! I'm not sure if this means that you just need a mailing address in Japan, or you actually have to be a citizen of the country. I don't own the set, and I haven't attempted to purchase it -- so I can't say for sure. They may still offer the diorama, I don't recall ever reading an expiration date on the offer. Pictures of the first set can be seen here and here.
