TOEI Animation has just released the next three covers for the "Dragonball Z Individual Dragon Box Set DVDs"; Volumes 34, 35, and 36. Like always, the DVDs will have 6 episodes per volume and cost about $36 USD each.
These DVDs will cover episodes 196-213 of the Dragonball Z anime, and are scheduled for a 10/04/2006 release. If you're looking to buy them we suggest either the Amazon.co.jp (only customer account info, and order form pages in English) or CDJapan.co.jp (completely in English) online stores. Before buying, please understand these DVDs have NO English dialogue and NO English subtitles. In addition they are NTSC/Region 2 DVDs, which means you need a NTSC/Region 2 (or Region Free) DVD player. The main selling point with these DVDs (for those of you who don't know Japanese) is the quality of the video and audio, which has been beautifully digitally remastered. Enjoy, and see you next month!

I also like how all of the DVDs match (use the same theme for each volume).
I know it's not really fair to compare it to FUNimation's DVDs, but FUNi's are all so different. Yeah, they kind of had a theme for the DVDs, but I just can't see the DBZ logo and a screenshot equals a DVD cover. DBGT/DB is a different story.

Exactly, the special uncut DVD edition had custom cover art, and might i add that these were actually well made, the art was impressive and it just all looked good.
The GT covers were unique , but the character on the front did not look good at all, it's as though he was traced with some sort of flash program. These japanese cover's are the best of all. I love seeing my fave character's draw with modern art, it just looks awesome. |

I got one of these DVD's too. The Graphics are great, I could not stop looking at it, The DVD's from Funimation are nothing compared to these.
The uncut Vegeta saga ones are nice, but these DVD's win by far. Even Funimation's new Dragonball Box set due out in October, does not look to attractive. |

It's probably because seeing as Toei are re-releasing the Dragon Ball Z series and they did make the series so they can make custom and brand new original art for their DVD's. And seeing as Toei have come a long way since they did DBZ, their art has got alot sharper and more fleshed out, that would explain why the covers look so nice.
FUNimation though do not have help from Teoi so they have to make their DVD covers from Episode screenshots/grabbed from other DVD covers/Posters etc.
