The Nintendo Wii Zone, has posted some new scans from the upcoming Dragonball / Z / GT video game "Sparking! NEO" (also known as Budokai Tenkaichi 2). The scans claim to show all (except 1?) of the playable characters in the game! Thanks to forum members SS4GokuIP and Juissifor the heads-up.

I guess this answers the age-old question of "Does a transformation count as another character?". The answer would be yes -- seeing as Frieza counts as like 8 of the 122 characters. Surprisinly, the only character I saw on there that I hadn't seen before was Mercenary Tao.
I'm almost positive these scans are from a booklet included in the latest issue of V-Jump (which released yesterday in Japan). I should be getting my copy any day now, so when I do I'll see if there's anything else worth scanning.

As much as I'm amazed by the amount of characters, I don't think they should have added that many. I mean, some of those characters will not even be used oftenly... e.g. there are loads of Vegeta's, who will use the weak versions over the strong? Yeah the weak versions will get used, but after a while they probably wont get used at all.
I have a terrible feeling that they have focused more on characters over gameplay. If so, bad idea.

Id like to think that they lowered the skill differances. made it less loyal to the show so that one has just as much chance of beating super Gogeta with hurcule then any one else.
Also, what's with the two cycles of vegeta (Not evil vegeta) it goes vegeta, SS vegeta, USS vegeta then regular vegeta again, ss vegeta, and then SS2 vegeta. I don't really get it.

Here Page 1 was the cover...seems like it wasn't uploaded. Page 2 & 3:

The first 2 pages is pretty much an introduction page as well as the contents. Nothing new or interesting is mentioned on this page. It does mention that this booklet only has the button layout for the PS2 Version since it'll be released next month and the Wii version will be released in January.


On top and bottom of the pages is the character roster and their numbers. Pretty much this is like an Instruction manual. Page 4 & 5:

Page 4 shows what each thing is and it's still the same from BT1.


Page 5 mentions the button layout. Pretty much similiar to BT1, however, R3 is to Transform and L3 is to Tag.

Page 6 talks about the Sparking! Mode. Your blast moves will do 20% more damage and also, you will be able to pull off certain Smash and Rush combos only in Sparking! Mode.


Page 7 talks about the special Sparking! Combos. -While in Sparking! Mode and Press Square continuosly will let you perform the Gekiretsu Rush. -While in Sparking! Mode and you press L2 + X Triangle will let you perform Dragon Heavy(Which effective against Giant Characters). -While in Sparking! Mode and you press L2 + X Triangle Square (wait) Triangle L2 + Triangle will let you perform Sparking! Combo, which starts off as a rush combo and in the end, you pull off a Blast Move(as it shows Oob doing the Kamehameha at the end of his Sparking! Combo). -While in Sparking! Mode and you press L2 + Square(any directional button) will let you perform Hyper Smash.

Talks about 2 more modes. Option mode and Data Center. In Data Center, you can input your B3 character passwords as well. Also, if you have a BT1 save, you will get 100,000 zennies. That's pretty much it, sorry it took me awhile to translate, for some dumb reason, the internet connection at college has been random and crazy so yeah.
