Hello and good day MFG people, as promised in my last Forum wide announcement here's the MFG News. This will be a bi-weekly update from me (Goku too) to you. It's just basically an update on everything that's going on around MFG, things you might know, things you don't know ... all kinds of things.

To start things off I want to bring your attention to the activity MFG's been getting lately. Everyday we're getting back to where we were back on MFG 3, we've had a steady influx of members and the numbers just keep on getting better. Right now I can see there are 38 active users, 29 of them members. This is a far cry from the days of MFG 4. If there's anything at all that we can help you out with or anything you want to see happen to make the forum better please get ahold of either Ace, Goku or I ... or take it to the feedback section so we can work on it. Nothing is too out there, we're definitely interested in hearing from you.

RPG:
Alright, this week we do have some news on the RPG. Major news in fact. Many of you may have noticed but we've gotten ourselves a new mod. Well an old mod in fact. Lazlo has rejoined the team and with his help has taken a huge load off my back. I'm still managing everything in that section until it rolls out but once it does Lazlo and Nikushimi will be taking over everything. So everyone congratulate Lazlo on his return, and thank him, he's a major asset to the RPG in general.

Progress is going decently, we've had more help over the past couple weeks since it's been closed down than we did nearly the entire time before that. I've got a day off work this Wednesday and will be working on that pretty hardcore most of the day. I'm hoping to get this out in about a months time, but I can't really guarantee anything. Having said that, I'm very happy with the system we're making and the team in general. It should turn out to be a hell of a success.

Creative Writing:
As usual we have the usual contest going on. MFF is in it's 7th or 8th week now and it's going decent. Last weeks winner was Null, everyone that entered did a great job as usual, Null came out just barely ahead. Thanks entirely to JAIF for seeing that week through to it's completion as I was too busy to actually get it done. That being said, I think I'm going to make the MFF project a bi-weekly thing, give the writers a break and more time to get their entries in. If anyone has an interest in writing, even just a passing interest, I invite you to come down and post some of your work up...

Art:
Goku has informed me he has a few projects going on in this area. Recently we've brought back the Art Battles/Competitions section. It's had a slow start but anyone who remembers this forum from MFG 3 will know it was a huge success, and we're aiming to make it that way again. If you have any artisitic talent at all come down and show off your stuff. The GOTW (Graphic of the week) has been brought back as well, and if I'm not mistaken will be having it's first week sometime this week. Get your entries in ... prizes will be given out.

Battle:
It looks like the new Battle Tourney is looking to be a massive success, hopefully with this new competition we can get some more action in that section. I understand it isn't finished yet but good luck to the remaining participants.

Anime Awards:
Zero and Majuub are still working on their anime awards. They've given me a rough draft of how things are going to work, and it's looking great. Look out for this one in the next little while. Check out the Open Anime section regularly...

Admin Projects:
Ace is nearing completion of his Image Gallery update. Some of you may have noticed that it was running a bit slow. Basically the Image Gallery has gotten too big and needed a little work. Ace is nearly done and then it should be on to another big project. I understand he'll be working on the News and Announcements program for the main sites, the vB update, a new skin and then hopefully some more cool projects that Goku and I have been talking about. No dates yet ... but as always MFG is moving forward.

MFG News: 2nd Edition

Well it's been awhile since we had the News last time and it's time for another update from us on staff. If there's anything you want clarification on then don't hesitate to ask in this thread and I'll do my best to make it more clear for you.

Well I'll start it off this week with JAIF having taken over the Battle! section. He's going to do his best to revive the section and bring it back to it's former glory as it was on MFG3 and hopefully better. The Battle! tourney is nearing it's close and will be over soon. As I understand it Pyro and BI are fighting for the final prize, everyone check it out when you get a chance, it's sure to be epic. Congrats to all those that participated, it sounded like a good turn out. Look out for updated rules and new projects going on in this section in the future!

And on to JAIF's other section, the Creative Writing section. The MFF writing contests are going strong. This time it was Best Emotional Scene - the contest has either just closed or is about to close, see the section for more details. Also get to reading those fics, we want to see new work and support for long running fics.

The Anime and Manga Awards are ramping up, and as I understand it the nominations are nearing completion or have completed, look out for the next step ... voting!

RPG Update: If you didn't see the poll earlier this week then you don't know. But the RPG creation has changed themes in mid-stream and is now going to be a Naruto only RPG. Sorry for all you DBZ fans but this won't be happening for awhile now. I have Lazlo working on a new version of it. Whether we'll have it featured here on MFG or a board of Lazlo's that we'll link here is another issue. But hopefully in time MFG will have both. We'll just have to wait and see what happens. Unfortunately this means that the Naruto RPG is going to experience a push-back in time as we have to start on a totally different system than what we were working on. The RPG team, Island and I are handling it and it will go live as soon as we can make that happen.

On a final note, there have been some announcements this week in regards to what's acceptable as far as sexually explicit posts and racist comments. I think it's gone over pretty well, and I hope you can all understand where we're coming from with it. Finally, for awhile now we've been working on some Lounge Guidelines and no it's not what you're thinking. We just want to bring everybody on to the same page, from mods to members and everyone in between. In the next few days you'll see this pop-up, so have a look. It's nothing restricing at all, it's just as you guys have been going about things already but with more clarification.

This also comes with a clarification on the Main MFG Rules at the top of the board. We're making things much more clear as far as what is and what isn't acceptable. It'll be the same really, but worded differently so there's no possibiliy of getting confused.

That about does it from me ... feel free to post and question anything you see in here. If you have any major issues then feel free to pm me. Don't make any asshole comments about the rules before you actually see them, if you want more info on that then please pm me and I'll deal with you directly. Or feel free to pm the mod for the sectoin in question and they'll be more than happy to help you out.
