Help promote MFG Forums!

To increase your enjoyment of the forums, I'm looking for some help promoting the site. There are a few quick and easy things you can do:

Include the forum's URL in your signature on other sites
Put the forum's URL in your email signature
Use the forum's URL when you post a reply on a blog
If you mention the forum in a blog post or in a post on another forum, include a link back -- either to a permalink if you're referring to a specific post, or just to the forum's home page
If you own or control a website, add a link to the forum somewhere

If you have any other suggestions, please post them here.

I've been doing some of those things every so often anyway. But hearing it from the big guys makes it feel...right.

Good call Ace, this place totally needs some more Promo. I'll do what I can on my end, hopefully we'll see a burst of activity if this gets implemented on a wider scale.

Wow Punxx, for a second there I thought you said something other then promo. =P Show's where my heads been all day. (No pun intended.)

Enigma and I run a forum we created when Community Server was going down the crapper, but most of our Member's come here already, so I'll see what else I can do on other forums. Though most forums I'm at forbid you to do such things, kind of like us.

Sure, why not. If you do, though, please include a link to MFG from your sig in the other board.

Another great way to help promote the forum is to use Digg and the other similar social bookmarking sites.

Notice the four small icons at the lower-left of each post. If you see a post that you particularly like, click on the first one to submit the post to Digg (you will need to register, if you haven't already). A link to the post will appear on digg.com, along with a summary that you can provide.

Note that until just yesterday, there used to be a bug (on digg's side) with this. However, that's been resolved, and Digg submissions are now working.

The other services work in a similar way -- use whichever one you're most comfortable with.

Since I used to come to this place everyday back in '05 I would love to help get some more active members... I do own a forum, but I haven't been on if for so long. So what i'll do in the next week is get all of them to join this place. Most of them are active and are not n00bs, lol.

Well man it's the least I can do for my first and favourite forum ever... I already told my mate YOUNY to join and hes really active... but yeah the members will come in the next week though
