Why do you guys care about post count so much? I can understand posts themselves, as a way to reference past conversations, but post count is a meaningless number.

Unfortunately, avatars won't be carried over -- you'll have to add them. vB doesn't use points -- it has a different system called "reputation". Everything else will be carried over, though.

We did try this once before for the forum, and it didn't got very far... But sure, why not. Go ahead and start one now if you want.

I'm temporarily using a cropped version of the banner on the main MFG site, but it would be great for the forum to have its own banner.

People care about those post count because they think the more posts it shows you have the higher your reputation is. Though I think if we've proven anything while at Community Server it is the number of posts one has means nothing. They can have a bajillion posts and be thought of as an idiot who spams, or they could have very few posts and be recognized as one of the more intelligent Member's of the Board.
I have been to many forums that have used vBulletin and love them all. To name a couple Code X and DragonBallToys use vBulletin. DBT isn't very much alive anymore, but Code X is thriving off of it. So I hope we can too.

The specifics depend on the skins we end up with. The first thing we need is probably a logo to match the default skin, which you can see here: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/ Something around 728 x 110 seems about right, although a little larger or smaller would be OK.

Sorry, no. vB doesn't support nicknames / display names, as far as I can tell.

Crap. I don't want to be a prick, but other than the two people here who've seen that movie, no one gets the name. I can't imagine it possible for you to disinclude me in the transfer process, but would it be possible for me to create a new account and have these posts attached to the other name(as stated above)?
