Default Ideas for RPG items

What are some ideas for RPG items for the store?

One possibility that was mentioned earlier is the Z-Sword. Is anyone interested? How should it be priced? Should it be a 1-time charge or a subscription? How many of them should be sold? Should it be a straight purchase, or an auction?

What other RPG items could be sold?

Well, I don't play the RPG so might be wrong but items in the same vein as the Z sword would possibly work such as other weapons/items used throughout Dragonball such as the Nyoi-bo or the Nimbus cloud. Or in a similar way the Excalibur or the Gungnir of various mythologies.
If it were just straight purchases with an unlimited amount for purchase, it would possibly work out as there wouldn't be any people bickering over the fairness over an item that there can only be one of, though that really kills the whole mythology edge if you decide to take that one.

Your first paragraph is basically my thoughts. Fairness and so forth isn’t exactly an issue, since we’re working on redrafting the guidelines, making use of the Information Center and the various forums to give in-depth explanations and details of what exactly is acceptable, what isn’t, and how the RPG works. It’s a daunting task, but we’ve begun small and the roughs, such as Layout designs, idea explanations and so are well into the way, and we might even be able to pull off a Dragonball / Mythology combination RPG. (I’m not saying we’ll include King Arthur or Kyuubi, I’m saying, we want to be flexible on characters, allow more variety, and over-all create a more interesting place to write.) For example, our ideas are to create a realistic battle-system, which not only corresponds with DB/Z logic, but also fit in to a semi-realistic view of combat. (I.e. You get stabbed in the chest, so you die, rather than snuff it off.)

Including purchasable equipment sounds interesting, actually. I also have in mind some Power-boosting items available for purchase, say, Holy Water, or something along those lines. (I understand Holy Water didn’t really do anything. That’s just an example.) Point is, I believe we should do much more than weapons. Say, only for an example, Nikushimi wishes to purchase Seiryu for Deidara. Seiryu is his Akatsuki Ring, therefore giving Deidara a boosted amount of energy, maybe even another increased Stat. (Though, I’m not sure we’d do private purchases, such as Custom Equipment, so that’s just hypothetical, unless Ace agrees to such.)

So yeah, I’d feel more than honored to be part of this and help fund for MFG, just by, like, modding.

What will it take to come up with a list of items, descriptions, prices, etc? Anyone like to volunteer to write-up a first draft to start generating some discussion?

I’d personally like to see some members volunteer, so I can get an idea of what exactly they’d like to see. About Nimbus Cloud, Power Pole, Z-Sword, etc, I’ll get a hold of Eragon myself and write it up with him. In addition, I’ll collaborate with Gosan on how exactly boosted weapons and equipment work into the Damage Formula (Since he originally designed it.)

Yeah...

To be honest Punxx, I think there's way too many weapons in the RPG already. I mean, how many "legendary" fucking swords can one RPG take? We're on serious overload here. The RPG is turning into WoW; your gear is having a larger impact on the battle than your skills are.

Heh, haven't seen the RPG since it's inception. The mods could always cut them down and put some of the items in here for purchase which could help the site assuming people would be willing to get them.

Not really. Put it this way, without training/rping, you will be far behind. No amount of gear can catch you up, the amount of gear you can have as compared to everyone else is fair. It is merely up to the discretion of the particular RPer on how devoted they want to RP.
