DISCUSS: Ideas for forum items

Here are a couple of possibilities for forum-related items that could be sold in the store:

Place a small graphic of your choice under your avatar
Custom rank name

They can both be done without any code modifications.

Is anyone interested? If so, what's a reasonable price? I would prefer to sell forum-related items on a subscription basis -- so much per 6 or 12 months.

Ability to delete one’s own posts, perhaps?

Ability to delete is a good idea. I've wanted to delete my own posts for awhile. And its a pain to go and ask someone to do it for me.

I agree that ability to delete your own posts would be cool. Unfortunately, that feature isn't available in CS right now, so it would require some development work. I would rather offer things that don't require any dev work first, just to get something up quickly -- but I'm willing to consider doing some dev work too. Those cases will need to start out as pledge items. When enough people express an interest to reach a minimum dollar amount, then the work would be done.

How much would it be worth to you to be able to delete your own posts?

For the MFG mini-mart, I'd want to see such things as modified or upgraded avis and sigs, perhaps modified usernames and ranks as well, and maybe you could come up with a more intricate point system like the little boxes that used to appear below your avatar, for instance. I wouldn't mind paying for those types of things as I still spend quite a lot of my time here.
