I'd start my own topic, but felt this one was sufficient enough for my questions.
I was wondering how the proceeds are going to go on an auction? Like how will you guys get 40%? If a Member bids on an item and you have them deliver the money to you, then do you have to give 40% to MFG or what? Because I'm thinking auctions might go against MFG rather then towards it. Seeing as people could put their stuff up for auction, collect the money, then not send any amount to you guys. Another reason I asked is because since I'm a college student and I do have some things I'd like to sell, I'd like to get as much as possible from them.

The way I think it should work is that the winner of the auction would pay the owner of the item 60% (plus shipping costs, which aren't included in the split) and then pay MFG directly for the remaining 40%. That way the owner wouldn't be tempted to not pay MFG. After payment is received by MFG, the owner would be notified, so that they know when it's OK to ship the item.

The only downside I see to this is that people may be willing to jack up their prices so they get as much as they would from eBay or something like that. So instead of selling whatever they're trying to sell for $60, they'd wind up auctioning it off for $100. Not saying anything is going to be that high, but I didn't feel like making math any harder then it had to be. =P But then again, if anyone was that stupid to pay that much more it'd be their own fault.

I wouldn't call them stupid for paying more. I would call them generous for paying a little extra, so that MFG gets some benefit. The same is true for people selling items. The hope is that they would be willing to accept a little less so that MFG would benefit. Plus of course there aren't any listing fees, etc.

You make some great points there, Ace.
I haven't really told what I'd be selling so, I'd be selling some of my DragonBall/Z/GT VHS tapes, a few DragonBall/Z/GT DVD's I have duplicates of, some figuredsI don't want anymore, and other little odds and ends that I manage to find that people may take an interest in buying.
