Welcome to the MFG Store! The purpose of the store is to raise money to help offset the forum's costs, including things like monthly hosting fees, software, upgrades, support, services, etc.
All threads started in this forum must start with one of the following keywords, to help identify the type of item being sold: AUCTION: these are items offered for sale in an auction-style format. The person starting the auction must provide the following details:
PLEDGE: fund-raising for special projects, such as software enhancements to the forum or to the main MFG website. When started by a non-Founder, these should begin in the Discuss section to determine feasibility and cost. Once active in the main section, a total minimum pledge amount will be set, along with a maximum date by which all of the money must be raised, or the project will not move forward. If the minimum amount is not reached by the deadline, then no one will owe any money. If the total is reached, then everyone who made a pledge must complete their payment within 7 days after the pledge is closed. Members who make a pledge and don't pay when the time comes will be banned from MFG. If the amount pledged was over $100 and payment is not made, members risk being hell-banned, at the discretion of an Admin (all of your previous posts could be removed from the forum). SERVICE: pay-for-service items. If there is a service you can offer to the community, such as signature design, music composition, website design, etc, you can offer it for sale here, with part of the proceeds going to MFG:
CONTEST: skill-based contests, such as for graphics, writing, fighting/battles, etc. Prizes might include cash, a physical item (DVD, etc), a title or rank on the forum, a service, etc. Entrants in the contests will be required to pay a fee. Prizes might vary, depending on how many people enter the contest. The details of the contest rules must be included in the first post. Most contests should be discussed first, to make sure there are enough interested people, etc. Normally 100% of the fees will go to MFG. However, if the contest requires a lot of work by the organizer, or if particularly expensive items are offered as prizes, then MFG's percentage can be decreased to a minimum of 40%. AD: advertising on the forum or one of the other MFG sites. If you're looking for a particular kind of advertising, start a topic in the Discuss area. Once the basic parameters are agreed, the ad can be put up for sale in the main section. Some customization is possible on certain types of ads, including limitations by country, browser type, etc. Ads will normally require a minimum committment of either a certain amount of time, or a certain dollar amount, depending on the type of ad. Ads for competing sites in general will not be accepted, although exceptions might be made under certain circumstances. WANTED: items or services that you would like to purchase. Give a clear description of what you're looking for, along with details on how you would like to pay (PayPal, check, etc), appx price range (optional), any timing/scheduling/deadlines involved, etc. Interested parties can then make offers that must include price and payment details, a proposed delivery date and how much of the price paid will go to MFG (minimum 25% for services, 40% for items). EXTERNAL: external sites, where if you buy something from them, MFG will receive a commission. Last edited by Punxx; 2 Weeks Ago at 09:24 PM. |
