Close the AF section - Page 2

I wouldn't mind it closing either, it is a fanbase, but now that it's been established that it has never and will never exist, it's pretty much useless. It's simply a place to indulge in that unnofficial non-canon Dragon Ball fanboy crap that we all seem to hate, but harbor deep down. I myself rarely browse those threads. Most of the time I go just to see what rediculous moves, SSj forms, and fusions that people have come up with.

However, if its not closed, I would support a name change: perhaps Like "The Dragon Ball Fandom" or something that has a more expansive variety of topics. It could cover everything from the Dragon Ball videogames to Fanfics/fanmanga, art, upcoming events and merchandise, news about the Live Action movie, and even Dragon Ball AF. That might peak my interest a bit because it will be a more expansive forum.

You could just change the description, not the name. The name is what catches a fan boys eyes, looking at "Dragonball Fandom" would not have the same impact as DBAF. Obviously adding those other tidbits would make it a more active area. Thus change the description.

And like BH said, you are underestimating how many AFers there are, for real.

I'll keep this brief. MFG has the largest amount of DragonBall AF content out of ANY site on the internet, and it has one of the only active discussion areas for it that I've seen. The AF rumors have existed for God knows how many years, and whether you like it or not, it is part of the DragonBall universe for that very reason. Almost every fan of DragonBall has heard of AF at some point. Get over it.

Why don't you people actually try making suggestions that add content to this board, and not take it away? Like Island said, don't post there if you don't like the section. Not a hard concept to grasp.

This has been talked about numerous times, and each time it was decided that the section should remain. Leave it alone.

I dunno... I agree, if you don't like the section, no one's forcing you to go and post in that section. Also, the arguments don't do anyone any good at all...

My opinion? Let people believe what they choose. Obviously, DBAF has a following. And like Manic said, MFG does have quite a bit of DBAF material.

To echo what's already been said: the AF section is not going away.

DBAF is (still) the single most popular part of the main MFG site. Having a dedicated forum for AF is a useful hook for attracting visitors to the site into the forum. It's also still relatively active.

Case in point: My very first post in this forum was in the DBAF section, after finding it on Google while I was constructing an AF site of my own at the time to debunk the rumors. The content of which was later donated to MFG in one massive .zip file that I sent to dino.

While it's not a bad idea to execute, the section draws good to the forum. It adds to the Dragonball genre, with which this forum is based off of, and it attracts members and activity. Though the stuff in the AF section is not real, it still issues entertainment for the fans.

MFG has already got a Youtube and MySpace account. The moderators and admins are post to be making the forums are better place to be but you leave the AF section open which has arguments all the time when none of it's ever gonna get resolved. I doubt that forum will die.

The author puts the words that are inked on the page together in a way that makes sense, but it is the reader that gives those words meaning. Need a computer built? Visit my thread!
