Default Old usernames?

How come in the old, old usernames, there are periods after them??

Like .Goku SSJ or .Mr popo (these aren't actual usernames to my knowledge)

Aren't they like, accounts that've been moved from forum to forum (say, MFG 3.0 to MFG 4.0) but haven't logged in since the move? Or something like that?

Yes they are old accounts that were moved during forum migrations. Everyone was sent an email to reactivate their accounts and in doing so would remove the dot before their name. Havins said that I believe there is a way to resend that email should it be necessary.

Because when I merged in the old posts from IPB, there were some account names that conflicted with the existing names. There were cases where an account on IPB was used by a different person with the same account name on CS. If I could tell for sure that the accounts were used by the same person (by comparing the old and current email addresses), then the accounts were merged. Otherwise, I created a new account with a dot in front of the name, so that they were different from the old names.

I then sent email to all of the old accounts with instructions on how to reactivate them.
