Debate Section - Page 6

I see what you guys are saying, but essientially, a debate section sounds like something that would just replace the lounge instead of coexist with it, and my basis on that is that we've made it so the spam topics are no longer allowed to be in there. If you're thinking about making it more politic-centric, i don't really see a point to that either, but a demonstration wouldn't hurt.

What are you talking about? Scan the first few pages and you won't see anything that'd fall into the Debate Sub forum. Sure, it'll take away a few topics from the Lounge but that's a pretty active place with our without political/serious debates going on.

Sounds like we're getting one after all though. So we'll see what happens..

I was making that prediction, and actually, something like that seems probable. Whatever, like I said, do what you want, I myself would be active in these topics as people have seen me active in political debates, but I don't expect many others to be.

The average number of people on at a time is less than 26, and that's including guests. V_V.

Different people come on at different times. It's not like you have to be online 24/7 to be considered active. He meant the 26 people who voted that they wanted a Debate section. It'd be kinda weird if they voted on the poll and then never bothered to post there at all. It'd make no sense, but then again maybe I'm overestimating peoples logic =/ Anyways debates always draw people in, I don't have any doubts on that.

It's not like the absence of a sub forum titled "debates" prevents such from happening. The Lounge has always been a perfectly suitable home for serious debates, especially moreso now that the spam and randomness has been weeded from it into the Gas Chamber.

I would agree that it doesn't make sense. However history here on MFG has shown that just because something gets heaps of votes doesn't mean that those voters will ever actually participate. Usually only half of those that ever vote yes ever actually remain active in the forums they vote for. Very annoying and thus making the poll feature for these kinds of requests useless.

I realize I'm new and my opinion probably means nothing but I'd definitely go for a debate section. I've been to many forums and most of them have a mature/serious/debate forum, even when the forum itself is centered around something entirely different like anime, video games or sports.

A while ago and we demoed the Sports subsection. Well lets try subsectioning a Debate forum for a demo.
