The reputation idea is a very good one but it's being mis-used.

The post count shouldn't be removed. I see no reason why. If post count is removed, then ranks are also removed and if ranks, posts, are removed then we go back to a forum just like it was a decade ago.
Like, 90% of the forums in the internet have the post count and asking to remove it seems pointless.

Now y'see, the problem with post counts and ranks is that it is a rank. And thus, some people beging to look down upon those with a lower post count. Eradictating post count completely means a much fairer view on everyone, as you cannot see how much contribution they've made, hence giving a non-biased view on that user.
