Well guys, we've reached a bit of a problem. I won't go into too much detail to avoid any sort of bias issues.

Problem: Is a combination of two manga universes a bad idea? Should we have one solid RPG with one theme (DBZ or Naruto) or a combination of the two?

I'll leave this open to discuss and debate. Please at least vote, but I do want to see some discussion as far as why you picked what you picked. I should also mention that we're not going to be entertaining any options other than those listed above.

It's been argued that having two universes is a very stupid idea that just won't work. One of us is for it, one of us against and the other can go either way. Naruto isn't up there as an option ... but I won't go into that. If it comes down to it and you want naruto then post that, otherwise just pick one of the options.

I'm new to RPing, but I've taking a liking to it with the Claymore one (Which seems to have died, boo). So, if we can only have one, personally, I think I'd enjoy the Naruto one more. DBZ would be fine and dandy too, I suppose, and I guess that more people will be wanting one of that nature. A combined system seems like it would cause major problems. Basically, in the sheer storyline aspect, you'd either have to power up the Ninjas to fight on planet busting level, or severely weaken the DBZ side of it. Because of problems on the surface like that, there are sure to be even more hairy ones down in the actual construction and calculations running underneath the thing.

If there is some grand way to link the two together in a sensible manner, please, present it. Or even to have both worlds running separately, but simultaneously.

Hmmmm, I seem to remember a certain couple of people sayin' double universe would be bad. Guess we were right. ^_^

Anyways, unless you have an overflowing number of people, a pure Naruto RPG is destined to die. I haven't seen many Naruto RPGs, but the one I have seen is well thought out but still moves along slowly even with at least 20 - 30 RPers on a day. From what I've seen on MFG, the usual activity is around 25 - 35. The number of RPers on that actually participate daily is around 10.

For a DBZ theme, it's been fun, but has become somewhat dull. It's become basically the same thing over again. The same people become the leaders and the sagas usually end the same way. Not to mention that either characters or the same exact personality is carried over in every restart. Personally, the best thing I've thought about the RPGs recently is the create your own items/weapons/attacks. Other than that, settings, plot, characters, personalites, and sagas are all the same.

As for a double universe, well that is fated to just be destroyed. Don't wanna offend the RPG mods or you who work on the RPG, but that is beyond what we are capable of doing. If it was worked on, it would take probably the rest of this year and then would slowly die off a year afterwards.

So basically, the three choices that you've given would either die off or just be the same repeated thing.

I personally like a multi-universe RPG, and I would say you all should go with that, but since I don't know what problems you all are having and don't know if it would defeat my idea as well, I can't explain what to do. You're free to IM or PM me if ya wanna talk. I've worked on two RPGs myself and I know some things that could be added.

As for the vote, I can't vote. Any vote I make would just be useless sine I doubt I would participate much in any of the three choices.

I'd personally go for Naruto, it's almost impossible to balance out DBZ and Naruto in the same universe. DBZ has been done a lot already, and MFG hasn't had a Naruto RPG yet. So at least give Naruto a go first and see how it compares to previous RPGs and go from there, it might become the best RPG era.

Naruto, alone. As much as I'd like to see a DBZ-Naruto crossover, it's practically impossible, because of the power differences in the characters.

I wouldn't mind Naruto myself, just not with Dragonball/Z. Honestly, it would be easier on my part to have a Naruto RPG, providing I can get some descriptions from the site, as well as some nice images. Working with Z requires Races, Super Levels, Stats, etc. With Naruto exclusive, we could use the Databook Stats, Clans, Fighting Styles (Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, Taijutsu, etc,), & build upon a more elaborated setting. The only difficulties I see with this is Canon Characters, Original Characters, & Lazlo who never saw Naruto. Everything else I can do myself, save the Level System & all that technical work Punxx does.
