Idea? Is it an executable idea?

I was thinking, that for stuff like sig/avatar requests and maybe some other things over time, we could have a form of currency. Like gold or something, that gets accumulated after replying and posting.

like creating a thread gives 3 gold, replying gives 1 gold. etc. And then you can donate the gold (or whatever currency you want. It could be jars of Espada Sperm for all I care =P). Also, IF it is executable, it could be used to get name changes etc.

I've seen this on another forum I go to. and works pretty well.

And, I like rep points, and they're cool, and they show like how active and liked a certain member may be, but they're not a money.

I just thought of this because I'd hate requesting for a sig or something and nothing to give. =\

I honestly don't remember. there was such a large gap between my postings that I really have no clue. =P

I barely remember too, since I joined in late October and I couldn't see MFG 4.3 much since they moved to 5.0 but I'm sure there were some post points not just posts. I'm sure of it.

I don't like the idea, it adds even more competion to the forum. Rep power points and post numbers spreads enough competion within the forum. Besides I think it would put people off joining the forum soon after joining. For some unknown reason people are joining and then leaving, I think the new gold idea would increase the leaving rate.

how? =\ If the members of this forum are too immature to handle something like a currency, that's pathetic anyway. =P There shouldn't be any competition.

I'll take the idea on board and see where we can go with it. I honestly don't know if it's possible or not. We'd probably have to find a mod or hack that would do this. I'll talk to my team about it and see where it goes.

I don't think this idea is worth pursuing because if posters are given "rewards" for posting the most topics, think of how many shitty and pointless threads would be posted for 'gold?'

Chances are the introduction of currency wouldn't be taken maturely. You know, another site uses posting gold as incentives. It's called Gaia, it's pretty much all spam. =/

Plus I hate site that make you post to be able to get stuff. (Just considering it from a Noobs point of view)
