Look beneath my Signature.

Whenever you edit a post, it's openly logged that you fixed that post. It doesn't appear within 5 minutes of editing. I honestly don't see the point of them myself. On most vBulletin boards, the feature is optional, where you have to click a box to have the Legend appear. You then type in the Reason if it's important. For Staff Members, Edit Legends are usually included so they can give a valid reason as to why they edited another's post. Why does anyone care if I edited my post 10 minutes later to fix a spelling error? Srsly, if I want to post I reason, I'd just type it in. =/

Also, I hear members can't Edit posts after X amount of time? Why?

Ace set the limit on two days after noticing people(like me) were starting to edit some really old posts, mostly for spelling error. I think it's just as uncalled for as you do, but since I'm not a staff member or even a former one, you go rave on about it all you want in the staff lounge. I won't stop ya. =/

I got kicked outta the Staff board. That's not the point, though. This means I cannot edit the Battle! Tournament post I made. It also means I can no longer edit my Character Sheet. We need to be able to edit Character Sheets, or else there is no character growth. More importantly, I can't include Pyro's Name & Character on the Tournament Roster if I cannot edit it.

You did? I heard you mention that you still had access to that board, and presumed you could still rave on about it there. Oh wells, that's life.

And yeah, I checked, and I can't seem to edit shit on the old posts either. So, if you really want it remedied, go PM Ace or another admin regarding it, or get your mod-position back, since I'm sure those rules don't apply to a mod editing crap.

I had access - But it's a long story. Anyway, I'll see to it that something is worked out. For the RPG, we need to edit the posts for updates. For Battle!, namely tournaments, we need to update Rosters. For Creative Writing, members may need to revise work, include Announcments, etc. In Art, it could simply be posting updates, table of contents, etc. That's the way I see it, at least. Yeah, I have some PM'ing to do. =/

Edit legends are enabled so that users can tell that their post was edited, and by whom. Mods are unfortunately not consistent about letting users know what was done, so the legends at least give them a hint.

I've changed the edit post limit from 2 days to 200 days. I didn't think about the RPG pages when I made that change -- sorry!

Well, isn't there a way to enable the Edit Legend optional for yourself? Therefore, it wouldn't appear for both members & Moderators when they edit their own posts. Then, when a Moderator is editing another member's post, they are required to leave a reason. Everybody wins. About 200 days, I suggest talking to Punxx. If Punxx plays his cards right, the next RPG Era should be lasting at least 200 days. It's your call, really. Character Sheets could be reposted every 200 days, afterall. I'm satisfied, though. ^_^

There are two settings for edit legends: the time to wait after making a post before showing the legends (currently set to 5 minutes), and whether legends are shown at all for your specific usergroup. There isn't a mod-specific settings that I'm aware of.

I can see how 5 minutes is a little short, so I've increased the time to wait setting to 60 minutes.
