Hi there, figured I'd post this here just in case anyone else was having this problem elsewhere.
First off, here's a screenshot that Xyex so nicely put out there for me: Writers of MFG / General Discussion Now it says that this topic has 90 pages when in fact it only goes up to 86, for whatever reason I can't seem to see this but the regular members can. The only thing I can think that caused this was the fact that I merged the old Writers of MFG topic with the new one (there were two because of the switch to MFG 4). We thought this might end up working itself out and eventually end up synching up with the actual page number but that doesn't seem to be the case as it's gone up one more page. So this is more direct at Ace than anyone. Anyone else see this problem anywhere else in the forum?

It usually does that when a topic's about to get to another page (like right after Crayne's post on page 49 of the L3 topic, a page 50 appeared that led you back to page 49). But, it clears up when posts reach there.

Ya but that's not the case here. It's 4 pages in advance of where it should be not just one. And the page number are continuing to increase instead of synching back up.

There's something a little strange going on. I don't see the same glitch that's in the screenshot, but the links on the forum display page go up to page 90 -- but if I click on the link, it goes to page 86 instead.
I wouldn't worry about it at this point. If it gets worse, or if people start getting error messages, definitely let me know and I'll persue it further. |

That happens a lot in the Text Games section which I frequently visit as well.(boredom) A lot of the threads, for example if one had only 45 pages, has like a 46th page in advance that links to the 45th page for some reason. 0_o
Here's an example: Ban the person above!. It's got a link to an alleged 56th page that doesn't even exist as of me writing this post, and it links to the 55th page. EDIT: Not anymore. As a result of the actual 56th page having been made with the right number of posts, the faulty 56th page is a goner. Found another one with one page in advance though, and there are a few others: Official post a pic of yourself! Though this one's a goner now as well. Yeah, it happened way over in the DBZ section where JC and the DBZers were arguing over the emotional depth in DBZ as well. Though in that last one, your last post seems to have conjured up a 24th page in the pictures thread, thereby nullifying the one it had in advance like before.

Indeed. I noticed that too. The theory that this is happens as a result to when the page is going to turn is partly true. I have experience the leap by or less than four pages.

Oh, these errors are immediately "rectified" if the thread accumalates the amount of posts neccessary for it to advance to the next page. I could try to find more errors for you, since I'm pretty sure some of them are still around now, but they come and go so fast, so..
