Q: How do you receive rep power?
A: You receive 1 additional rep power: For every 365 days of membership For every 1000 posts For every 100 rep points Q: I tried to add to someone's reputation, and it didn't work. Why not? A: You need to have at least 50 posts and 10 rep points before your rep hits will count on others. You can only give a maximum of 10 rep clicks per 24 hours, and you have to give rep hits to 20 other people before you can give them to the same person again (Admins are exempt from these rules). |

Q: Does vB do anything special with Skype?
A: Yes. You can enter a Skype ID in your profile. Unlike with the other IM services, vB will determine whether you are currently online with Skype, and change the icon that's displayed near the reputation icon in your posts, in your profile and on the Who's Online page to reflect your online status (a checkmark if you're online). As with the other types of messaging, clicking on the icon will bring up a small window that makes it easy to interact using Skype, although you need to have Skype installed in order for that part to work. |

I don't know if this has been answered.
Q: I've never subscribed to a thread before but in my profile it says I'm subscribed to a few threads. Why? Q: What does the check next to a thread title mean? A: The blue check mark means that you are subscribed to that particular thread. Are we going to compile these into one massive FAQ when all is said and done?

To change the default setting -- if you'd rather not have those silent subscriptions, or you'd prefer instant or periodic emails, for example -- go to the "Edit Options" page in the User CP, then in the Messaging & Notification area, under Default Thread Subscription Mode, you can select the default you prefer. Once selected, the default will apply to future posts only, not older ones. You can also set the thread subscription type when you submit a post -- either when making a new thread, or when using the advanced editor for a reply (quick replies always use the default setting). Under the area where you type your post, there's a section called "Thread Subscription". Yes, exactly. |

Q: Is there a way to change the icon that appears to the left of a thread's title on the thread summary pages (the one that looks like a piece of paper by default)?
A: Yes -- when you first create a thread, right under the edit box is a list of "Post Icons". If you select an icon from that list, it will appear in on the thread summary pages -- as I've done by choosing the smily face icon for this thread. |

Q: How does thread rating work?
A: At the top of every page full of posts for a thread, there's a menu item called "Rating". If a thread has already been rated, that rating will be displayed both on the thread list page (where a list of all threads in a section is displayed), and in the Rating menu area. If you click on the Rating menu, you can select ratings from one to five stars. Then click on the "Vote Now" button, and your rating will be averaged with other people's ratings, and the result will be displayed on the thread list page. The system is currently configured to allow you to change your rating. So if you start out liking a thread, and later change your mind, you can update your rating accordingly. To see your current vote, just click on the Rating menu. |

Q: Is there a better or faster way to see what's new on a page, than using my browser's refresh button?
A: For most pages, you'll notice that there's a "breadcrumb" near the top of the page (between the top nav bar and the logo) that shows the path to the page you're looking at. The second line of the breadcrumb shows the name of the current page in black. There's a folder-like icon to the left of the name. If you click on that icon, it will refresh the page very quickly and efficiently, without re-fetching all of the images, etc, like the browser does when you use its refresh button. You can also use the other links on the first line of the breadcrumb to see current versions of those pages. |

Q: I use dial-up. Is there a way to make the forum run faster for me?
A: One possible solution is to try disabling some of the extra graphics and "clutter". You can do that by going to your User CP, then click on Edit Options. In the Thread Display Options section, there are 3 checkboxes that let you show or hide Signatures, Avatars or Images. You can uncheck one or more of those (and click on the Save Changes button afterwards) to see if that helps improve the performance of your dial-up connection. You can also try switching to the Basic Editor, which is done from the same page as above, in the Miscellaneous Options section. Q: There's an obnoxious member whose posts have been bothering me. Is it possible for me to block their posts somehow? A: In the User CP, click on Buddy / Ignore Lists. Enter the name of the user who has been bothering you in the "Add New User to List" box in the "Ignore List" area, and click on Save List. This will hide posts from those users. Q: I've noticed a few posts where people are clearly breaking the MFG rules. What should I do? A: Click on the triangular warning icon on the right side of the post. That will report the post to mods, who will look at it to decide what action should be taken. You can also give the user negative reputation, by clicking on the scales icon (near the warning icon). If you'd prefer to not let the person who wrote the post know that you said anything bad about them, you are also welcome to send a PM to one of the mods for the section. Please include a link to the post that you're concerned about. |

Q: What is a "permalink", and what should it be used for?
A: A permalink is a URL to a specific post, in context in its thread. The URLs that you normally see when browsing a thread refer to a particular page. The permalink provides a direct link to a particular post. Permalinks are most useful when linking to a particular post from another website or forum. If you would prefer to link to a post in a way that it's shown by itself, then you should use the "#" URLs (#3 for the third post, etc -- right next to the permalink). Those URLs show the post on a page by itself, without the context of the rest of the thread. |

G'day! :)
On my other forum, vBulletin is used too! Which is a good thing, cos it's pretty much the same. Butttt... I was wondering why these forums don't have as many things to fill out in the profile section. Here is an image to explain what I mean: http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/6...elayoutvi1.jpg

If you or others have suggestions of particular profile fields you'd like to see, please let me know. Favorite Animes and Favorite Mangas seem like two obvious candidates.... |

Ahhh, I see.
Lol yeah: Favourite Anime, Favourite Manga, Sex (Male or Female), and Social Networking would be good (Myspace, Live Journal, YouTube, etc). :)

Favorite Anime / Manga
Favorite Character(s) Sex (Male or Female) Anime & Manga should be one, otherwise it'd be redundant, and someone could easily put [Series Name] (Manga), [Series Name II) (Anime), etc.

Gentlemen, I like Brawl.

Can we have some space in the two anime and manga sections too please? I mean, I have multiple favourite anime/manga, maybe a top 10 list?

OK, I've added the new profile fields, and a few others. I decided to keep manga and anime separate, though. Although there's a lot of overlap, they are really very different.
