Virus' on vBulletin MFG?

Okay, but srsly, this is a srs topic. Before the move to vBulletin, these forums were green on my SiteAdvisor bar, meaning it was virtually free of any wandering virus or spamlette. The main site was not, and so I was forced to avoid going there as much as possible; it was bright red. Now, however, these forums also register as red, meaning that it is prone to contain unwanted programs, spam, etc.

I wanted to bring this to the attention of the admins, because I really like MFG and I don't want to let viruses keep me away. But srsly, my firewall and all that stuff is pretty darn good, so if I'm getting red signals and I'm in danger of getting cookies and programs n' shit, I shudder to think how horribly little SSJ5Goku will be rape'd when he logs on with his puny inferior dial-up.

To summarize, MFG is coming up as a threat now, and I want to know if anything can be done to fix this.

Yeah...If you have superior virus protection, as you say, then you don't need to worry about it. (McAffe and Norton don't count as superior). If anything tries to come onto you're system, then it should bring up an alert and an option to delete or quarantine whatever it is.

It's nothing, just the fact that these Boards are crawling with direct Toutube videos, Uploaded information, and anything that could be 'potentially' harmful to your system. Just have your Firewall ignore the board as a threat, allow it, or whatever your system does when you want to tell your computer a system / site is safe.

Yeah, but that's pretty irritating when that happens. And still, that's pretty inconsiderate to the members with shit protection. Even though my computer can handle just about anything that gets thrown at it, there's still no reason why I have an angry red bar staring at me when I log in instead of a happy green one. =/

Some of the commercial systems are overly-paranoid. Cookies are nothing to be afraid of. They can't hurt your system in any way. But then they have to give you something to be afraid of, or you wouldn't need them.

There is nothing virus-y in any way about either the main MFG site or the forum. They do both show ads, and they do both set cookies. Big deal.
