The demon's can choose to be immortal right? Why can't the kais? Weren't they like that in the anime?

It seems unbalanced, I agree with Buu. They are the opposite sides, good and evil. They should both be immortal, because one of them has "Malovent Persuasion" the other "Mystic Halo" Then they would both be balanced.
