I was thinking, and perhaps MFG site should have a fighting styles section. I would love to provide info and pics. The profiles would go something like this -

Fighting Styles in DB/Z/GT include - Turtle (roshi) style(Roshi > Goku, Krillin etc.), Crane style(Shen > Tien, Chiaotzu / Tao), Kaio style(King Kai > Z fighters), Wolf style (yamcha), Ancient Namekian Art (Kame > Goku / Piccolo > Gohan) Saiya-jin style (Vegeta > Trunks), and there are some more...

Well, that was mostly it. We could include the sybol of the fighting style... (i know we already have a symbol guide) I got to thinking and I've made a complete list of all the styles -

It looks good, but with some errors. Tien and Chao-zu were never students of Kame Sennin, he even states that during the Piccolo Jr. Tenkaichi.

You forgot the Kami fighting style.

By the way, the styles can me added much, much more information, and why they're effective as well as pros and cons by training that method.

Anyway, I also think their should be a little more info on each race like what it focuses on etc. For instance, the Ancient Art focuses on Ki Control and combining Mind, Body and Soul.

I, for one, don't see much of a point. "Training Schools" for Dragonball might be fine, but there really isn't "Fighting Styles" to speak of in Dragonball Z, at least that are readable to a common person.

I understand your point of view. However, characters throughout DBZ are trained by other characters. Because of this, characters do not all fight the same way. Gohan is a good example, he is trained by Piccolo in an ancient namekian style and later by Goku in Goku's own mix of every style he has learnt. Every character has a unique style of fighting but there is some basic structure of each style passed on through training. Like Trunks has Vegeta's saiya-jin style training whereas Gohan will not have any trace of that in his fighting.

No, Dragonball Z doesn't really reflect the unique fighting styles. I know what you are talking about, it's not that I'm unfamilair, I actually know more about it than you can probably imagine, but the point of having it for Z doesn't exist. There is no "Saiyan Style" because all they do is fight based on raw experience, and nothing else. They are self-developed, and have no consistency.

Now, on the other hand, Styles are quite recognizable in DRAGONBALL, but not Z, because Dragonball factor'd in skill in fights, whereas Z did not. Having a style list for Dragonball is very much possible, but don't expect it for Z, because they all pretty much fought the same, with the occasional signiture blast or something.
