Actually their "job" wouldn't be any safer. It would just be more common and AIDS would explode.

Prostitution is kept illegal for more than just morality. Prostitutes are raped allot (yes I know this happens to normal women as well), and, as said, due to having so many sex partners they can spread STDs and such.

Yeah, their jobs would be safter. Did everybody decide to ignore the part about brothers? As said, in that kind of scenario, rape and STD infections will go down. It's like I'm talking to a wall here.

Their job wouldn't be safer. Rape cases are always let go even if the woman's occipation is legal. Rape and STDs would simply increase due to the number of women who would take on the job. Don't compare talking to me like a wall.

Rape cases are not dropped or ignored. I'm sorry that I insulted you, but you continue to ignore cases where prostitution is legal and there are no rape and STD epidemics. It's rather frustrating.

So is your ignorance on the subject at hand but I did not insult you. Tell me, how much experience with rape itself do you have? How many people do you know who have actually faced it? I know several and all of their cases were dropped because of the simple fact that it's her word against his. No way to prove it was consensual. Prostitutes are raped more than normal as well and due to having sex with so many people increses STDs.

2. Actually it's quite likely because they could get more of their profits if they worked for themselves. Legalizing it would simply decrease arrests.

Then let me ask you this: If a system were proposed that would allow for licensed brothels, on the condition that penalties for street workers and pimps would be increased and more enforced, would you be in favor of it?

You didn't seem to catch my last post here.

If prostitution was made into a profitable business, in which there is an overseer of sorts and hours that the employees need to work in a controlled environment, rape and STDs would become a MUCH less apparent problem.

As in any business, especially one as potentially successful as this, there would be security. Wavers would need to be signed by participants. Proper measures would be taken to avoid, or at least lessen the chances, of passing STDs. This could be further lowered by having the women (or men) specialize in certain things.

I believe the last thing on a rapist's mind would be to go to a public place of business to rape a woman when there are plenty of measures taken to kick his ass should he try.

Really this sounds like a better idea than having groups of prostitutes work under a pimp and be subjected to slave labor, rape, STDs and whatever else is on the streets.

Some good points here, but there is no gurantee that this will happen. Something this vile, will be hard to keep in organized like people are stating. It isn't that simple, and rape and STD's can still be an issue. Also this promoting to cheat on your partner, which leads to adultry. There are too many negatives, to justify that prostitution should be legal. There still will be some type of corruption. It's really hard to justify this behavior, for people who have no control over their desires and lust, and women or men trying to make money this way. I think people who want this line of work, should just apply into the porn industry, i'm not saying that i approve of it, but it's better than being a prositute and there is less health risks.
