If I went to war, it would be because I signed up, meaning that whoever I went to fight I would consider MY enemies. It's not simply because the Government said a certain people were my enemies, though I don't think I'd have a whole lot of trouble seeing eye to eye with them. There's also the possibility of having to live Rambo style in the Soviet State of America.

What if you were drafted?

I'd seriously be against killing another human being. I doubt I could bring myself to do it even if my life was threatened. Not that I'd blame anyone if they did, I just don't think I'd be able to. It's not out of a higher sense of morality or anything. I mean, it just doesn't seem possible to look at another person and decide to kill them to me.

If i got drafted, i would rather go to jail. Don't believe in killing others for just my country, it has to be really personal for me to kill someone, so i rather serve my term in jail, but most likely i would have to fight in there for my life as well, so it's a lose, lose for me.

Long story short, if I don't want to/believe in the cause to fight, I'm not going to. I'll do my potato time, take my court-martial, name calling, and dishonorable discharge. That's a case I can only think up one or two examples to end up at that, though. Just about anyone America ends up at war with, I wouldn't have a problem fighting and killing. Doesn't mean I'd leap at the opportunity to rush into battle, because I don't see a reason to go get shot at when I can chill at home, but if I had to it wouldn't be a huge thing for me to get over.

If I was equally as threatened to die, then I easily would. I don't see all the fuss over this, I mean of course it is a human being but then again, if it threatens my existence, then fucking kill him, as long as I don't go to jail.
If I was forced to go to war, then I'd do my best to survive AND to accomplish the mission, even if it did involve killing other people. Plus in war it is very different, you just shoot, kill, move on and forget about what you did... don't even look at the victim or it'll make it worse.

If someone had killed one of my friends or family, I'd want revenge, but I wouldn't hunt them down like some cliche revenge story shit.

In wars most people don't even know if they killed or not. All the confusion and bullets flying around make it very hard to tell.

A person, I believe I could bring myself to that extreme given a certain event in my life. If it was in a fight, you don't think about it anyway so I'm sure I could. Not that it's a good thing. Just the truth.

I have never killed anyone, but I have talked to many soldiers coming home from Afghanistan who have. They remember everyone they killed, and exactly how it happened.

In other wars this may have been a bit different, (I haven't talked to anyone who fought in WW1/2) with all the chaos going on and such. But IMO, when you take an aimed shot at someone when you're looking through battle sights, you're going to know if you hit him or not.

Post traumatic stress disorder is a common after-effect of tours on Canadian troops. They actually have to go through 'civilian training' for a month when they come back, basically they relax and talk to psychologists so they don't flip out and hurt someone if they hear a whistle or explosion, something that would remind them of battle.

Regarding the topic though, in the heat of a battle, probably. Not saying I wouldn't feel guilty later. But as long as I tried to stay "away" from the situation emotionally, then I probably wouldn't have any problem with it.

As for creatures other than humans, only if I had to. Other animals are living just like us. I wouldn't interfere with nature over a mouse getting eaten by a cat, but ya know.

Well to be honest I probably couldn't take a Human life but an animal I could. If someone was trying to kill me then I'd probably have an adrenaline (Yes I know I spelled it wrong) rush and I might just not be thinking 100% so I MIGHT. However other than that I could not.

Killing somebody intentionally is pretty much always murderous. Regardless of whether it's out of passion or you're just fucked up, it's murderous.
