The good news is, it's 880 megatons, so it wouldn't end the world anyway. The results would still be really bad on some populations depending where it hits though.
Let us hope it hits Africa. XD

Don't see it happening myself. Even if the magnetic poles do shift, nobody knows what the effect will be... At least I would hope it doesn't end there. That's when I'm going to be finishing college.
Lol. You seriously are underestimating an entire shift of the magnetic poles?

The amount of times the world's meant to have ended is insane - Y2K and some date in 2006 were both meant to fuck us up.

Plus, I don't think I'll worry about it since there really isn't anything we can do to stop it lol.

Pole Shift & Pole Reversal in 2012

This guy makes it sound very scary.

EDIT: I got bored and read a bunch of articles on the whole pole shifting thing and it's all bad. Or, that's what crappy authors want us to think to get better sales on their books. :/

This debunks any real danger when the poles shift:

Daily Common Sense » What is that pole shift thing?

According to NASA there's no proof that's even possible. They claim that instead of the magnetic field disapearing (Like a lot of doomsday theories predict), it'll just become much more complicated.

This won't happen over 1 day either. It could take up to 5,000 years. If you trust NASA's word you've got nothing to worry about. It's all in those links I posted if you'd like to read up on it.

I'm not worried about it disappearing, but even the slight changes causes big differences. For real.

Wait... if it turns out to be a meteor... don't we have thousands upon thousands of nukes to deal with it?...

And the magnetic poles thing is an easy problem to solve. Just chain yourself to the basement's floor. :P [Insert Cookie Monster Pic here]

But with all seriousness: I don't want it to happen in this lifetime, or any lifetime that follows that. I hope all humans leave Earth before anything happens.

If there truly is a God, then diddly squat will happen on 2012.

And Vivi, we could always prevent war with Orion's Belt. =/

Actually, read Revelations, it predicts similar things to the end of the world.

No. I am merely saying that the events leading up to things is very similar to other predictions that point to 2012.

Post Re: The end of the Earth

The theme of the Book of Revelation is "Stand firm in your faith!" It's something Christians all need to be reminded of for life in the present. A summary of the book would be: Avoid compromises with paganism, don't cave into adversity and martyrdom, wait patiently for the fulfillment of God's promises, God has triumphed over evil through Jesus, and we must let God triumph through each of us as we follow the way of the cross.

It's tempting to associate the Book of Revelation with the Battle of Armageddon, and to focus only on the tribulations and war and Anti-Christ and Second Coming of Jesus. For 2,000 years, people have extrapolated clues from scripture and the immorality of the world to speculate about the time and location of this battle.

The lord asks us to follow the rules and the Book actually gives us encouragement for doing such deeds.

I like how end of earth usually implies death of humans, but actually death of the homosapeins would not mean the end of the world, End of the world i tihnk the earth is gone, burnt to a crisp in 5 billion years from the sunss supernova stage, or blown up some how, which would be no easy task.
