Siding with Vivi: He is right. If we take this chance, small chance, we will learn more and technology will become even greater. The stuff you see in science fiction movies might just become a reality sooner than we think thanks to this project. Besides, why don't they just announce when they are going to do it, so we can all go into shelter? That way, we won't get flung to outer space like a meatball lobbed across the lunch room in a food fight. In short, I think this is worth it. Besides, what are the chances of something bad happening? Less than one percent? That's basically saying nothing's gonna happen.
Siding with Bulma and the Others: She's right. Even one percent chance could be a total and instal failure. Heck, I play this game called NukeZone. And in this game there is a Laser Beam Satellite, which has a 95% chance hit rate. Just when I aquire this weapon, and press fire, the most surprising thing happened!: I missed. Which goes to show you, 1% is a lot since it gambles with more than six billion lives. BTW, according to a news article I read, if the American Troops leave Iraq, it'll collapse and genocide is highly probable. So yeah, those suckers are welcome. Thanks to the do-gooder attitude of Americans, we are gonna spend quite sometime in Iraq, so it can get off it's lazy ass and back onto its feet. Tch. Now THAT'S a waste of money.

Because it would be too hard to get to and because it would probably not make a difference =/

If there was a black hole anyway near the Earth we'd be fucked anyway. A black hole near Pluto would fuck us up royally =/

We would not be protected from a black hole, but we would be protected somewhat from the random particles flying out

HOE NOES! PARTICLES!!!
I am seriously not worried by these things. There will be precautions. It's not like they're gonna be waving it in your face and surprising you from behind. |

You guys realize the only chance of failure comes from these particles, right?
You also understand that just sitting around in space for billions of years, the Earth has continually been hit by such particles at a similar speed, so, we are playing this chance ever day. Why would we not take the chance again, this time learning something from it? (Not like we have a choice in taking the chance again, even if we didn't do the collider, we'd still be bombarded by particles.)

And you apparently don't realize the magnitude of opening worm holes (not to mention dark-matter; something we hardly even know about).

The particles are hitting us naturally. We are attempting to tamper with something we don't even know about. Dark-matter is one of the biggest mysteries in astronomical circles. We can't even detect energy from it; we're clueless. Wormholes, as they themselves admitted, might rip open another dimension or a time-traveller might pop-up. Anti-matter mixes with the scenario and now we have total chaos. Oh, let's not forget the possibilities of BLACK-HOLES. Yeah, we should take the risk. Knowledge>>>Safety (especially when we don't know what we're getting into!).

Isn't it by tampering with things we don't know about how we learn?
