Quote:
Some different forms of Kryptonite (there are more, but I'll just list four) 1) Green Kryptonite severely weakens and eventually kills any Kryptonian that is in close proximity to a non-shielded piece (such as the Kryptonian or the piece being encased in lead). 2) Red Kryptonite has wild properties that only last for about a day or two (turns Superman into a child, changes his telescopic vision to a freeze ray, etc). A Kryptonian cannot be effected by the same piece more than once, and he or she will never experience the same effect more than once. 3) Blue Kryptonite affects Bizarros the same way that Green Kryptonite affects Kryptonians, weakening and killing a Bizarro. 4) Gold Kryptonite will permanently strip a Kryptonian of his powers, rendering him no different than a normal human. Madness, Kryptonite is radiated pieces of Krypton following its explosion. Prior to Krypton being destroyed, Kryptonite doesn't exist.

Depends on which incarnation of Superman we're talking about. The two strongest versions, the pre-crisis Silver Age Superman as well as Superboy Prime (which would be in his adult form the strongest incarnation of Superman there is) are vastly superior in every aspect to the strongest characters in Z or GT. The other incarnations vary in strength so much that it's hard to say where their strength stands in comparison to DB/Z/GT.

Please explain the difference between the two concepts, as SA Superman could easily overpower SSJ3 Goku.

Well duh. Supes can't use them. He'd be able to take them though.

Wow, being so overpowered must've been really boring for the readers.

Because it was so obvious that I thought you were referring to something else. Sorry.
It made for some spectacular feats though. |

It depends on which incarnation of Superman we're talking about. A missile could probably kill Golden Age Superman; many early Dragon Ball characters would have no problem withstanding, say, a FIM-92 missle, which could've conceivably killed that Superman. The 90's Superman is stronger, but to the point where he had marked difficulty bringing down an airplane; again, compared to the casual city-annihilating force of Piccolo Daimao, it's hard to believe he'd have much chance against a DB character.
Past this point, it starts getting into "please, Kami, make the Dragon Balls wish him away" territory. The Silver Age Superman was so ridiculously powerful he could sneeze away galaxies on accident. Superboy-Prime, an alternate reality incarnation, could chain together planets and haul them across solar systems. Kingdom Come Superman and the newest All Star Superman are so powerful kryptonite is just another rock. The Superman of DC One Million is the most powerful: immune to kryptonite, able to stop any conceivable threat, and with the power to create life and recreate entire realities on a whim. Oh, and he's 85,000 years old so it's safe to say he's practically immortal. But, at the end of the day, it's hard to compare any of these Supermen to a Toriyama character. In Toriyama's reality, we need to believe that the characters can move so fast that they leave behind the light that had been striking them, yet simultaneously may have problems exceeding the speed of sound while running. In the DC Universe, we have to believe that a man can leap off of Earth at speeds capable of traversing back through time and avoid disintegrating this planet in the process. Both definitions of physics clash. Thus, you can't come to a conclusion either way since both fictional places have a different stance on science and what's possible. |
