Serious question about these 'chan' sites.

I've heard that 4chan and 7chan have img boards dedicated to child pornography. I see members make references to these sites(not the sick part, just the site in general) and was wondering if it's actually true and if so how they hell is it allowed to exist?!

CP is not allowed on these websites. People who post it get banned and the content deleted. Not to say there isn't some fucked up stuff there and that CP doesn't get posted, but it isn't allowed.

Edit All-in-all, these sites aren't that bad. A lot of the people are sexual deviants but they tend to keep in their own sections (though /v/ gets a hentai thread every couple days).

I know the infamous manga CP involving an infant is on one of those boards...that alone is sick regardless of animation.

I'm glad it gets banned at least, but that the site has people that have this in the first place and post it for any reason is just disturbing.
I'm not saying the boards are bad overall, but I noticed on one of those parody wiki sites ('unenclyopedia' or something) that 7chan has a board for dedicated to this? Not Hentai or Lolicon but actual CP.

I doubt there is a board anywhere that is dedicated to real CP. That's a one way ticket to a jail cell. There is plently of CP hentai though. 4chan is pretty bad, some of the stuff there will make you cringe and then after a while, you become so desensitized to it that nothing affects you anymore.

EDIT @ Hal: 4chan's memes are usually funny though, ebaumsworld tries to make memes like the newegg one but they fail miserably.

I'm curious about how it's allowed. I don't wish to come across anything that's CP. I really don't want or need to see anything like that. Knowing it exists is horrifying enough. I'm just wondering if it's true.

And I just rechecked with encyclopediadramatica and it seems the cp no longer exists. That's something.

If anybody tells you that 4chan is a terrible place full of disgusting things, they probably don't go there. If they do, they probably go to /b/ and, due to the occasional thread about gore or something similar, deem the entire site horrible. There are plenty of places that are full of pretty regular discussions and trolling.
