Back Hacking

Has anyone had a problem with this on this site or anywhere else.

I had a major problem [now fixed] the last couple of days and I was curious if anyone else has experienced user identity issues.

The problem was identity theft via they internet, while I left MFG idle on my desktop.

I apologize to Louis for accusing you but when you neg-rep me the same time I get hacked, it's a little suspicious.

I don't know about the situation, I do know that there is a little bit fo a dispte over whether or not louis was indeed hacked as he claims.

It's possible, but it's too much of a coicidence and something about his posts don't seem right. It's as if he's trying to get a quick fix for irritating a group of members.

Have you PM'd Punxx? He or an admin would know more about this than a member.

This problem never happened to me but after seeing your experiences with hacking, I will definetly be more cautious on the internet.

Louis is Louis, if he is experiencing trouble also, then I feel for him but its his issue, not mine.

Yeah, I PM'd Punxx and he said he would keep an eye on everything.

He recommended that I change my password, to say the least.

Hopefully the issue is solved. I doubt it's Louis. He's an asshat, but what do we actually have to suspect him?

I've generally come to a consensus that it isn't him.

Unless he really is a more mature individual who seeks internet domination with whomever he gets into debates with by hacking into their account and posting nonsense. He then goes back to his 13 year old slang and inability to put constructive sentences together.

But no, its not him. Just some schmuck that wanted my IDent. and had an itch to mess around with MFG [Which, I left idle].

Now, it's unlikely that MFG being idle caused a hack any more than your computer being idle connected to the Internet did.

I have raised the point of XSS attacks before in another thread, and everybody needs to read up on them. Any time where code can be executed client-side is a risk.

With vBulletin and the settings that are currently running, it is impossible to hack straight from the message box, but having thought further on this, I can see ways to do it. Punxx, if you are interested, drop me a PM and I'll tell you how it can be done.
