It's not like that everywhere (I don't know of any army which forces you into 6 straight years of combat on the frontlines before you can go to uni)..that's ridiculous haha. I haven't seen any combat and they'll pay for any university I want, I just haven't gone to one yet. Being deployed depends on your job within the military; not everyone is an infanteer.

I'm personally an advocate of the 4 day work week. Part of my current research is on work-life balance, and it isn't nice sometimes. Almost every professional and managerial type I meet would love a four-day work week.

You may not make as much money, but you are more productive in your work and will probably be more satisfied with your quality of life.

If you're working the same amount of hours your salary shouldn't change should it? (Besides the extra day to waste your money maybe =P )

I take it you're in university, Neffy? What would you be taking that you would be researching work-life balance??
