Why was the Gas Chamber called...the Gas Chamber?

Why that title win out from (I presume) other possible titles for an off-topic crazy section?

Because sometimes you'd rather take your fingers off the showerhead holes and let the gas seep through and kill you than read the posts in there.

That's one of the connotations, but I highly doubt it was meant in that fashion.

Well, during the Holocaust, the Jewish people were stripped of anything valuable, (rings, gold teeth, etc.), and then put into the gas chamber. Same thing on MFG; threads are stripped of any substance, and anything valuable to the message board, and sent to the Gas Chamber to, well, perish... eventually.

Threads do go there to die, and the parts all mill around together, sometimes spawning something even worse altogether. If you don't call what happens in there the killing of threads, you must have a more brutal name for it.
