Invading America

So I'm planning to go (solo) to America doing some touring in summer 09. Mainly to go to San Diego for ComicCon. I'm a geek, didn't you know

Anyway I was wondering if any of the Americans here or ones who have gone have any tips for me, such as what the cheapest hotels are, best means of getting from state to state, actvities ect.

My state trips so far are hopefully going to be (in no particular order) Chicago, Arizona, San Diego and New York.

Any suggestions and tips are greatly appreciated.

My suggestion is that you have everything well prepared. Going to another country which isn't familiar to you, alone, isn't a picnic :).

There's one in Phoenix Arizona and San Diego from what I can see so far. I'll jot it down on my list.

Even though America is generally cheaper than Europe, you're going to need A LOT of money. For my trip in Europe, we ended up spending thousands, and we didn't even do a whole lot of stuff. Don't expect to get to San Diego for 50 euro. Save a lot of money, and don't waste your time in Arizona.

Well, on a episode of Viva La Bam I saw one time there was a Budget Inn Motel down here in Louisiana.

Oh yeah I'm thinking the thousands as well. Nevermind what I need, it's what I don't need put aside in case of emergency. What's wrong with Arizona?
