Batman. No stupid "powers". Everything he is is self-made. He wasn't just born with all kinds of abilities. He earned every bit of his image.

Spider-Man has always been my favorite. I've always seen him as someone who is constantly lonely and racked by failures. His whole career as a superhero has been checkered by a series of tragedies, starting with Uncle Ben's murder (which is my favorite origin story of any superhero). His double identity has often seperated him from (and sometimes hurt or killed) his friends and those he loves. Society is distrustful of him. There are so few individuals in Spider-Man's world that truely understand him. And yet, in spite of this, he always tries to rise above it all and keep fighting. And that is what makes him a real hero.
