I get that. My point is that you have no added functionality over what I do (using free / provided software), but have some suck added in.
Buy a 3rd party MP3 player that acts as a USB mounted device that you can drag files to from any file browser. Any device that asks you to use proprietary software sucks donkey penis (Apple and Microsoft fanbois, I'm looking equally at you).

Not really. They're both good devices, and the iPod does let you just drag and drop songs. The Zune is more tight fisted, but I can always change the registry to let it be seen as a Mass Storage Drive where I can put in songs. I just didn't want to take it that far for a few reasons of circumstance. Plus some good software is handy to change information and keep in touch with device updates. Proprietary software isn't that bad if it's done well and options are available to not use it (iPod, though surprisingly not to many Zune people are pissed enough with the software to come up with their own or port it to good things like Winamp and Windows Media Player). iTunes was inferior to Windows Media Player (Why the heck won't the Zune work with that?)

Yet you are the one to open a thread called 'Please, someone help me.' where you basically biatch about the proprietary software you are forced to use, while I am happy with my choice of free software.
In this case, it has not been 'done well'. If you wish to debate further, please quote your first post in any answer.

The great thing about that quote of mine in your post is that is says 'Proprietary software isn't that bad if it's done well'. Not 'Zune software is done well'. Congratulations on the reading comprehension. I'm not here to debate anything. I'm simply trying to answer your questions so that you know what I'm looking for. That said, make with the goods or make like a tree.

Apparently some people share your pain:
Yahoo! Answers - Zune Software Sucks. Alternative? zune software alternatives? - GameTrailers.com Forums Any alternative to horrible zune software? - boards.ie Zune Software Alternative Check those links, you might find something useful. I don't personally know of any alternative but the links might contain content that do.

With most MP3 players, you can open them up and drag and drop. I had a Pilot player that used Rhapsody, but it kept on randomly crashing. So I just dragged the folders into the thing and called it a day.
