To be forthright, it's more or less a a matter of opinion. "Free will" is a choice, whether conscious or unconscious. Free will may seem like it surmounts to nothing when death is imposed upon one as demonstrated in the second video, but what is free will to begin with? It's a matter of interpretation. Take relativity - relativity is a commanding notion within itself when people become a slave to it - through the relativity of obtaining the ever changing material goods. Some even feel as though they're forced to want such. The notion of happiness itself may be what is sought rather than getting that which is only attained in the immediate moment; that which is familiar - not "perfection" - but flaws. Why search for improvement if you seek what is a conundrum within itself - "flawlessness"?
That, however, brings me to another topic - what is free and "flawless" in one person's eyes may not be in another, which could mean that freedom and "Utopia", rather, itself may not have such a consensus. I mean, we can all arrive to the deduction that freedom is not being restricted. And yet despite someone claiming that they are free because they are influenced by no one (and that they are their own self.... I'm not contesting that), the can still be a slave to their own will and feelings. Funny, that one when speaks of freedom they also allude to being able to do what they want with their incentive and feelings - the very feelings that they cannot escape and sometimes even feel adverseness against. Can one control said feelings? Well, that's another story - it's been reiterated a great deal that many cannot help but feel the way they do. Some may be able to change that - but feelings are not an omnipresent thing and some get lost in pensive muses. And to be pensive about anything requires time to oneself. I'm certainly not saying that feeling the way one does is a crime of any sort, but that it leads to the issue that is striking balance between the world of thought and the world of action. Yet one can be so attached and influenced by feelings that one feels rooted with - that within itself makes people a slave to their feelings when, despite feeling that way naturally, they cannot escape those feelings even if they want to in many cases. The feelings that elicit the thought of thinking about yourself - even for a window of a moment - which, in some ways, is self-indulgent enough as it is, so much so that one may think against that. That's slavery within itself. That's another reason for me to chalk up "freedom", "control", and "slavery" to labels in a more personal way. Now, a free mind? That depends. I've always been of the school of thought that everything is subjective because of the intense impediment of the human mind and perception. Simply put, I feel there is more to even the simplest element than what we could perceive on this level. But more or less, as stated, it's a matter of opinion - what freedom is in one mind may not be that to another mind. It depends on how one defines "free". To some, freedom is simply being carefree and feeling simple things. Hence why many cop out for easy solutions. To others, freedom is escaping whatever hinders them or that which they care for. Can we think what we wish? Yes. And for some, that's just dandy and that's freedom enough. Can we do whatever we wish? Well, perhaps not, but even if we can, there are many, many other incarnations of things that threaten freedom in a way that takes a great deal of discreet, deep thought and observation to discern. But now I'm ranting - there comes a point when all of this verbose becomes a roundabout way of me saying "I don't know" or "it's a matter of opinion". In summation, I'd say that depends upon one's definition of freedom, amongst other things. Well, killing is another matter. Some kill because duty calls and because of conformity to principles, not because of attachment, people, passions, or personal gripes.

I will admit I skimmed over parts of that, and the other parts were a bit heady for me... but that still made a fuck-load of sense. Rep4u

You didn't answer my question anyway. Its the exact same situation, except the soldiers believe they are fighting for 'freedom' or something, so their intentions are MOL good. If I believed that someone was the antichrist, and if I didn't kill them then everyone would die tomorrow, so I killed him, it would be the same thing.
