I'm from Winnipeg (the place the bus was going), that place will make anyone crazy.

This is pretty messed up though, on a whole different level of crazy than anything I'd seen when I was still living there.

Usually people that psychotic are institutionalized. He must not have ever gone to a doctor so I'm guessing he wasn't on meds yet.

Reading that story actually makes me sick.

I can't find any pictures of the attacker and/or victim.

I just noticed I worded that weird.

I meant *Before* the crime scene, as in a regular picture.

I stay away from things like that :(

In the rare chance that you had to use them for self defense it would be alright. If you just go around hitting people you should be punished.

That is so much my way of thinking.

Sadly, in the UK (well, until just recently*), if you draw a weapon higher than your attacker does, it's considered 'disproportionate response' and you get charged.

*Thank FSM, the laws have been changed a little in the favour of the victim, but I am not sure exactly how much (IANAL).

If a victim is attacked and laws keep them from defending themselves, people are screwed. I was reading articles and women were talking about they'd carry pepper spray even though it's illegal because several rapes were in one area. Hell, crimes like that are still very popular today. I feel the law would still screw someone even if they only defended themselves. I just wish for an ace in the hole. I damn sure won't hit with kid gloves in a life and death situation. I'd much rather use death reaper gloves.

In the city I live in....it was reported as the worst city in New Jersey. The paper said that I believe....somewhere around maybe 30 people were getting killed every month? I'm not certain about that so don't hold me to it but it was something to that effect. It looks to be much better now and the town is being rebuilt but there are a lot of scum bags here man. A lot of drugs and weapons in certain areas. My uncle suggested to me that me and him get something (non lethal but potent). In general it's just a lot of scumbags. I was told that one guy went up to an atm in Jersey City and was shot, then his money was stolen. Stuff like this is ridiculous and with nothing to protect yourself, whether it be long range, mid range, or close range...you're pretty much throw away to the lions and wolves of the jungle. The best thing the government could do is let people defend themselves with so many dirt bags running unbridled. I don't exactly live in paradise valley but I'm making the best of it and I avoid trouble at all costs. But I often hear sometimes trouble comes toward you, even if you don't want it.

As Griffith stated in Berserk, "if you have something to protect...take up that sword."

I don't wish to know I can injure people, I want to know I can fully capable defend myself (at least to an extent). I wouldn't mind getting a firearm card either if that will let me carry a concealed weapon such as knuckles, I may look into it. I could easily say that Newark is much worse than Canada though.

I don't want to hurt anyone, it's not in my nature to injure you know. And It's serious to me, so I probably wouldn't talk about it on a forum. Just a simple self defense device is all I wanted. I can knock someone out without knuckles, they're just for ending something very quickly when I actually need it if I do. It's good to know your environment isn't filled with idiots.
