Ok, lots of assumptions I'm making here, so please point out any fail in a nice way. I'm assuming that's $ as in USD (United States), and that you are not in a special age category that is different from the normal population.

Federal minimum wage is $6.55/hour, which overrides State laws if the state is lower (not entirely applicable to all States, but the exceptions are few).
