I am sorry, but why do you guys own swords? I mean, I would understand for like collection purposes, but to have one just to...have one? What do you do with it?

Its the same situation as owning any other weapon. People choose to collect or train with them. I enjoy training with the sword and using it with purpose. I own just about every weapon associated with or used by theshinobi-no-mono. Using these weapons with integrity prove its elegance and legacy for the ninjutsu.

Nah, I don't. Unless you're a collector I don't see a point in it. There isn't much practicality in owning one anymore, or practicing with one.

I own 2 Long Swords and a Ninjato. All of which are rather cheaply made.

When I was working in the sword shop they brought out a proper katana to show me. It cost £3,000, but it was fucking beautiful.

Oh and as for why own a sword...Why own a Chia Pet? Why own Knick Knacks? Why own anything that has no real use? If ya like it, get it.

I like swords so I get them. I also CAN use them. Just don't. I happen to enjoy Sparing with Shinai.

I remember when I was watching a program about the problems of the UK youth. One of the lads on it had a battle axe. I was like "WTF I can understand knives but a battle axe?"

I bought one replica katana, quite poorly made really, but the price was low as well.

If I had the chance to buy a real sharp one? An odachi. Definitely an odachi. Think of Sephiroth's Masamune with a bit longer handle. Well, the blade is 49 inches and handle 18, in one example I found. So yeah. Long sword is loooooong.
